His safety would probably be in jeopardy if he scores for us..

Really tricky situation to manage for Rodgers and another part of this fragmented season.. injuries, half the support hate the manager, the board hate half the support and support hate the board..

If Rodgers wins this title he would deserve enormous credit.

Imagine the fukin board couldn't give two * regarding Abada's situation and are only concerned about how much money they will make off the back of him.

As we can all clearly see ...that's gonna backfire on the greedy * .

Just let the guy leave and move on.

If that is the case he should have been gone in January no questions asked.

I'm glad Rodgers has made that decision...

Should have been made in Jan.

How can we support someone who doesn't want to play for us! His loyalty lies with Israeli and with that, there's no supporting anyone with the two things I've just mentioned. So for me, he can GTF!

I don't praise Rodgers often if at all but fair play to him for dropping him today!

Feel it's better if he's just allowed to train and listen to offers. Too complicated a situation to manage otherwise.

4 other wingers will all be here next season so would rather just leave him out and give game time to Kuhn and Yang

Brendan Rodgers has explained why Liel Abada was absent from the Celtic squad that beat St Mirren in the Scottish Cup fifth round, saying that the winger was 'not in the right frame of mind' to take part in the match.

Rodgers had described the Israeli's situation as 'challenging' in the lead up to the game following criticism of his performance and body language in the win over Hibs in midweek, with Abada disappearing up the tunnel on the final whistle instead of taking part in the celebrations between the team and the supporters.

That led Rodgers to grant him a leave of absence for the game in Paisley as goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda set up a quarter final tie against Livingston at Celtic Park, and the Celtic manager gave his reasoning after the game.

“He wasn’t in a right frame of mind.," Rodgers said.

“I’ll spoke a lot to Liel and it has been a challenging time for him.

“I just felt when he came into the game the other night, it just wasn’t him.

“So we gave him this chance to have a few days and clear his mind. I’ll have a chat with him again next week, see where he’s at.”

Be amazed to see him here next year but hopefully make a bit of money on him and move on.

His value will be so much lower now.

Weird that we didn't just loan him with an option or obligation to buy in January. It seems like his head has been away and it might be difficult to get any sort of tune out him.

You just don't know what kind of pressure he's under from back home, but the truth is we can't carry passengers. Not at this stage of the season.

Everyone who's here needs to be fully committed to the cause. Coming on and not bothering your * in a game like Hibs away, given its importance, is disappointing and unacceptable for me as a Celtic supporter.

Strange we didnt even loan him in Jan. I think it tells us more about how under invested we were as a transfer window, that the board couldnt risk letting him go due to the backlash from supporters that we would have came out of the window weaker than we went into it.

The right thing in this situation was to move him on and sign a left back too. Nobody would have batted an eyelid considering we atleast replaced him in the window.

Should've gone in January. Instead he'll be sat picking up his wage while giving half arsed performances when he gets game time here and there.
