And yeah, I would go with supporters thinking we could maybe be a bit braver in terms of bringing in another level of player. But that's something that's up to me to try and fix that over the course of my time here.

That’s all I wanted to hear from him really. He’s recognised the issue and emphasised that it’s up to him now to ensure he gets properly backed in the summer

I’ll be astonished if he’s still our manager next season. Given our injuries & lack of investment, every chance we could * this up from here in which case he’ll be offski. If somehow we manage to get over the line, he’ll not be up for hanging around next season with the * in charge.

Personally, I think we need cleared out from top to bottom & that includes the manager.

Suppose you have to take him on his word, “we identified players that were interested in coming but the other club wouldn’t allow” . Doesn’t make me any happier though.

The bottom line is that he never got what he wanted, and so it's on to the summer, rinse and repeat.

I’m glad he voiced that we could be braver. I think that’s very important and hopefully he can make that happen. The board would be stupid to let this opportunity pass and lose him again.

Sorry I don’t believe a word that man says, his credibility is sinking at the same rate as the boards.

Hes only not our manager if we loose the league. He won't walk away again

    Fair play to him.

Thats what I wanted to hear. It isn't screaming from the rafters but as mentioned it was never gonna be. Clearly there's a disconnect between him and those above him which really doesn't bode well.

He has to do more in terms of working with what he has BUT I hope this puts an end to the myth that he's somehow content and happy behind the scenes with the powers at be. Has been obvious he isn't getting what he wants.

I think he’s basically tried to balance two main desires:

    1. the desire to get his message across to the fans and the board that he’s unhappy with the level and quantity of players we have brought in

    2. the desire to get the fans to refrain from wide scale protests against the board. “there’s no individual to blame”, “it’s important to stay together”

he clearly knows we need better. Equally he knows that if the fans turn toxic we’re up against even more than we already are.

    Its all words, mouth service.

Hes had two windows to find quality and he's not been a strong enough character to ensure thats delivered. As club manager, thats on him.

He absolutely did say literally those words: ‘I would go with supporters…’ - it’s at 0:20 onwards in the video that James posted above. At least give these things a watch first. :87:

It was the recruitment teams fault, just * tell it how it is Brendan for * sake.

    Always the diplomat.

Maybe I’m just that * he hasn’t come out and went mental but I would rather he spoke out more.

I believe him about not getting deals over the line, I said how hard January is and how important it is not to panic or you end up with more of the * we already have.

However I don’t doubt we were also being stingey.

He's never going to come out and slate recruitment..what he is more or less saying is if you want to kick on we need to be more ambitious in the transfer market...he's trying to keep a lid on it to win the league without things becoming toxic..he's stuck in the middle trying to play the diplomat.

We had some deals we couldn't get over the line..............It's a familiar line we've heard before.

Just not good enough, especially off the back of the underwhelming summer window.

Unfortunately it's not really realistic to expect him to go mental at the recruitment team. That isn't gonna happen from someone with his position and who is in the public eye as much.

He's playing it well to keep both sides happy - us and the board (his bosses).

But he needs to surely understand that this board aren't gonna suddenly be nice and ambitious come the summer.
He's gonna need to be very vocal and drastic, or he will need to walk away. An ultimatum to Dermot may do the trick, skip over that * Lawwell completely.
