Just a point on that option 1. You would see a provision in the financial statements if the club were providing for an amount to be paid in compensation if

a - it were likely to happen I.e more than 50% chance
b - the amount was material to the financial statements as determined by the clubs auditors.
c - if the amount of compensation couldn’t be realistically quantified then some kind of disclosure would be required.

It’s not going to just magically appear that 10 or 20m is going to be paid in compensation with no mention in the clubs accounts.

To go from Ange, where I was very happy with how the club was being run, to then making ourselves much weaker in the summer... having millions in the bank, and then doing eff all now isn't incompetence...even a nobody like me could do better..it's deliberate.

Dodgy refs, SMSM blowing up ref decisions for one team only, a severely weakened squad and we can easily lose this year and then set ourselves back years. If we lose, THEN the money will come out to keep us on an even keel.

We are going to come out of this window weaker than when we went into it.

 

We tend not to spend much in this window like most clubs. We were in profit by a few million last year, spent maybe £3/4m year before and were in profit by £10M+ one before that. Stop making up scenarios why we aren’t spending millions this window.

Recruitment was a shambles in the summer. That and the fact we have had all this time to try and fix it a bit is the reason we should be angry. A ST, LB and a goalie should’ve been before now. I do agree we could spend a bit more but the board are too tight fisted. No doubt our targets will have January tax on them and that means we will have to wait.

No excuses for the summer window though and the fact we are still scrambling about looking for signings on DD. Think there needs to be a restructure all through the club. It’s just not working anymore.
