1 week in and absolutely * all happening.

What the * have they been doing the past 4 months? Do they * think you can only start looking for players and contacting clubs when the windows open.

We have 2 massive games at the beginning of February so you just know we will be scrambling about for * loans on the 1st of February.

Why can't we just for once act like a * competent, professional football club.

 

Maybe they are working away in background plenty time left everyone is away to Thursday this week

 

Think it will be business as usual when it comes to transfares,a couple of uninspiring players brought in on loan and maybe a couple of project players that we will never see.

Really hope im wrong and the board back Rodgers but we,ve been here before when we needed players to come in and up the tempo and we have been left disapointed so im not to optimistic.

 

Tbh I am not expecting much. 1 or 2 max this window a don't think the club will want to spend much. They seem to like the cash in bank. Interims out 2nd week October to 31st December full expect to see close to £100m cash in the bank to the end of last month. That will no doubt dwindle down to about £85m cash come year end. Club happy to invest in barrowfield as a cash investment which is strange.

 

This does really make you question why we bothered bringing Rodgers back.

He was clearly promised funds and a certain calibre of player targeted as he alluded to in the summer and as he has frequently mentioned about the lack of quality in certain areas of the squad during press conferences.

It does seem like it's * hour on groundhog day again.

To say that 'it's notoriously hard to get players through the door in January' doesn't wash. What was the excuse for the summer window then? There are loads of leagues where their season has ended and we could exploit that market - MLS, Japan, Korea, most South American leagues, Norway, Sweden. Failing that, we could actually prepare for a window beforehand instead of scrambling around?

 

Surely the head of recruitment doesn't get 11 days off when the window is only open 32days?

Working away in the background is what the last 4 months was for. All new signings, barring a last minute bargain unexpectedly popping up (matt O'reilly), should have been in and ready to go on Thursday when players return.

You get the impression the football department kinda gets in the way for our board at times.

 

True but I don't know many other clubs who had a summer window as horrific as ours either
