Actually a bit gutted that he wasn't able to make it happen last night. He came on and instantly gave everyone a lift, then 10 mins later it was game over.

Left me wondering what could've happened if he'd started instead of Forrest. We'd have had 11 men on the park instead of an empty jersey for one thing anyway.

I'm not sure who has decided what end product means but if it's just assists and goals then it's a basic way of judging a player. A player creating chances for others is still valuable even if those other players miss the chances. And strikers could still be good players without scoring if none of the other players are creating any chances.
As I said MJ was on the park for about 20 mins and created the only clear cut chance against Motherwell - more than Palma, Yang, O'R, Holm, CMac etc etc did in the whole game.

Think he's edging ever closer to being a right good option for us. Looked very sharp last night when he came on and gave me the impression that he's determined to get to a good level. Hope he keeps getting minutes.

I hate how people still trash him, he did really well on his loan spell and they actually wanted to sign him but he didn't want to go there because he wants to play here.

He's not had enough time since coming back to show anything, lets wait and see.

    How ?

According to transfrmarkt he played 31 games scored 3 (1 league goal) and got 4 assists.

Forrest last season 21 games 5 goals 2 assists

Neither of them are anywhere near being good enough for us and neither of them should still be here. Mikey Johnston has had so many chances and done * all with them he doesn't deserve any more.

There's a reason for that he's been at celtic forever and has what 30 spread out appearances in 6 years or something and always picking up niggly injuries that keep him out for the season the definition of unreliable

People still peddling this myth that he was great over in Portugal. His record there was stinking.

He's 24 and he's scored 14 goals and got 16 assists in senior football. Anyone who thinks he's becoming a genuine option for us long term is off their nut.

He's only a better option than Forrest at the moment because Forrest is as useful as a mannequin. Neither should be anywhere near our squad.

I’m really not a fan of this guy, but while we have the trouble we have in the wide positions he has to be utilised before Forrest.

Don't want any of Johnston or Forrest to be starting but for now, with the injuries we have and the likely attitude of the board to refuse a quick purchase in January, you go with Johnston.

Credit when due. Pivotal in turning the 2nd half around.

    He completely changed the game.

Good to see Irish Internationals in the first team again.

Better than Yang as it stands. Should be starting every game in the next month imo.

Doesn't say much for Yang when this guy came on and instantly looked levels above.

He's still not the answer out wide as his final ball let's him down too often, but * me at least he was able to actually control the ball, dribble and give St Johnstone's defenders something to think about. He definitely played a part in the game turning.
