I thought he was extremely poor, but also agree that he tried to take on responsibility in the middle of the park.

It’s not for lack of trying, he just isn’t good enough or athletic enough to do the job he needs to do in our current system (and never has been good enough defensively in any other system either).

All well and good people talking about him trying to take responsibility in the middle of the park, but that’s not going to cut it when we have SPFL dross haring down our left wing in acres of space and being allowed to ping crosses for fun.

He and the manager finally have to face facts that he’s actually a born CM masquerading as a LB.

We need a true left-back, and - as we saw under Ange when, for all intents and purposes, he was a midfielder - Taylor simply isn’t a full-back in any conventional sense.

    As a forum.

Couple of weeks ago he was unbelievable. Now he’s horrendous again.

Got to be here best, Taylor has had some very good games but never marked him as an 'unbelievable' player.

Greg is a good footballer but for me our bar should be set higher. When the ball comes down the right I am very confident that AJ has it covered, when the ball comes down the left, I instantly worry. When AJ passedls the ball I am surprised if it didn't make its destination and if Taylor misplaces a pass I am far from surprised.

For me, Taylor would be a superb backup lb and that is what he should be for us

He's good enough domestically, in an inverted role, with Maeda's pace/energy on the left putting in his usual shift, they have a good understanding and work really well as a unit both defensively and going forward. But with someone like Palma in front, who doesn't have the pace and defensive pressing to cover (not a criticism of him, it's not his game and don't expect it to be) there's a bigger hole and Taylor's shortcomings get exposed more.

He definitely still has his place in the squad and can be useful to us in a lot of games, but Rodgers will almost certainly be looking to bring in a more athletic, traditional LB long term.

    I agree with you.

That’s not what my post was about. It was about the fickleness off the forum at times.

Inverted role suits him bcoz he can go in the middle of the park and hide.

    He's a * * bag.

Their goal last nite was perfect example of type of character he is. Rather than take responsibility and deal with it he'd rather stand there and blame Scales.

Fed up seeing the wee * pointing and moaning at others while he ducks out of doing his own job.

Manager has had to change from his traditional way of playing bcoz this wee * bag won't take a man on or go to the byline.

Absolutely * ridiculous he's made it this far in his career with such limited ability.

He must have learned the blaming less senior players for his own inadequacies in the SEVCO academy.

Easy to say, but were is the competition for his place.

That's the biggest thing that needs solved. Taylor is playing every minute of every game.Thats got to take a toll too.

He's been poor in pretty much every game this season. I can only remember one or two games where he did "alright".

Needs replaced in January. But we probably won't have European football after Christmas so there will be no urgency to get someone better in.

No he hasn't. He's had several good games and he wasn't even bad today. Folk talk so much * pish about Taylor, especially you. We need competition for him and we could do with an improvement in his position but he's a better player than a lot of our fans give him credit for.

To be fair to Taylor, he had a few excellent games Domestically before the Atletico Game, was fantastic away to Hearts and at home to Killie.

Been off it the last few league games no doubt, but so has a few others tbh.

You are correct, he is being flogged, due to no competition. And it is taking its toll.
But surely, we should be able to shoehorn someone into the position against the likes of Ross County?
Reo slotted in at RB last season and strolled it.
Surely the like of Bernardo or Holm could slot in to give him a breather.
Today, for example, he spent most of his time as an extra midfielder or inverted full back anyway.

I would have taken him off at half time today for Kyogo and went 3 at the back. We were being asked to do nothing defensively and Taylor was offering little to nothing going forward.

Please buy an overlapping fullback with some sort of athleticism and physicality..

You make me want to dive right out my living room window.

    Genuinely is that depressing

We all know Taylors weaknesses, I think he does too and Rodgers. Thats why he went from no inverted fullback play to going back to inverted the way he was under Ange.

We need a proper LB. Taylor isn’t that bad just now.
