He’s definitely been mismanaged to a degree but not a single Celtic fan would argue he’s an upgrade or even a sideways step from GG.

In fact he’s a fairly substantial downgrade at this point in his career.

He’ll never be good enough, sorry if that upsets some of you. BR would have played him more if he genuinely thought he was ever going to be good enough. Another project that’s not going to pay off. Very poor management by letting GG go and replacing him with a project. Ange ya * that’s on you.

Thought he'd thrive this season. Granted he's getting next to * all game time but it's not looking good for him.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this guy.

He's not had the same benefits as Giakoumakis, where Kyogo has had periods of injuries and being rushed into returns.

He is also being asked to perform in games like today where his support in attack is guys like Mikey and Forrest where both shouldn't be playing if Celtic were truly ruthless...(queue the bite back regarding homegrown issues)

When Oh was given real game time he immediately made a better impact then Giakoumakis did when compared to arrivals.

He played the equivalent in minutes last season of just over 6.5 games and scored 7 goals.

How is he not good enough?

Confidence is shot to pieces, that much is evident. But * me the guy offers very little at the moment apart from fouling defenders.

He actually replaced Giakouamkis well for Ange, he averaged a goal every 83 minutes in the League under Ange which was more prolific than Kyogo or Giakoumakis who averaged one every 91 or 93 minutes.

Even now that he's played 100 odd minutes in the League under Rodgers without scoring he is still 3rd in Minutes per goal in the League over the last 18 year.

    92 Giakoumakis
    98 Kyogo
    101 Oh
    107 Griffiths
    113 Keane
    117 Edouard
    121 Hooper
    130 Bellamy
    132 Dembele
    132 Camara

I think he was, he's physical and technical and a really good goalscorer.

Just because he's not been getting a game doesn't make him a poor player.

Rodgers never gave Christie a game for about 2 year until * were injured and then once he did he played well for us from then on.

I do think he will leave in January though, I think he hates Rodgers as he warms up in front of where I sit and I always see him absolutley raging at other subs getting on and him not getting on. For me he still works hard and gets tore in when he gets on but you just know he will be thinking that this manager will never play me and im getting off.

Probably what Giakoumakis thought with Ange only at least he got a run once when Kyogo was out for 4 month.

Just isn't being given the best chance to succeed here tbh. Rodgers should be finding a way to go with both him and Kyogo when we're chasing a goal.

He has failed to take some guilt edged chances that have fallen to him when he has come on. GG was a very physical player who was able to make an impact when he came on. Oh hasnt had the same impact when he has come on.

GG had plenty of games where his impact was the square root of * all, since he left it's become a complete myth that he always got the job done when called upon, it's been pointed out plenty on here that he only scored like twice in his last dozen or so appearances for us, getting hardly any minutes the same as Oh is now. People really need to stop putting him on a pedestal.

I would far rather have GG as my number 2 striker than have Oh currently.
Theres not even a comparison for me, Oh isnt near the level and we are not in a position where we can wait for him to get there.
Its not even about hyping GG. At the moment Oh isnt it.

Dont quite agree with that, Taylor usually is.
But its pretty evident we need a better quality back up for Kyogo.

Oh has been getting it for weeks especially on twitter despite hardly even kicking a ball. He got 25 minutes yesterday and that's the most he's got in a game for as long as I can remember. He done * all but it was day when the full team was pretty pish.

Someone who scores 7 goals in just over 6.5 games worth of minutes last season is anything but *.

He has simply not had the opportunity to level Giakoumakis had to get a good run of games to get firing simply because Kyogo has been fit and injury free for most of the early season so far.

You'd think writing off Giakoumakis as early as some did after his missed pen against livi would teach some people some perspective.

Oh is the least of our worries in terms of squad quality, we need to be looking at more creative sparks in central midfield as Hatate is critical to our game.

Palma is doing well but it would be nice if we could scour the world for a right sided Jota to compliment it.

Taylor, Ralston, Forrest and Turnbull albeit harsh, need upgrading but given the state of the Scottish game, we're * if we can find better homegrown talent which is * tragic.

Maeda is everything to me, but domestically he's not just not what a Rodgers system needs so if we could find that right sided Jota style player.

We'd have the likes of Maeda who can offer utility down left, right or center as 2nd, 3rd and 3rd choice respectively, Palma, new RW and Abada, with Kyogo and Oh all ahead of him.

Oh is so far down the list of issues in my view.

Exactly this. There's also Scales and Ralston. Big number of folk wanted O'Riley gone last season fs. Beyond me how people still have the arrogance to demand players gone because they're *. Will never understand it.

I thought O'Riley would never be an ideal AM and he'd have to play McGregor's current role to maximize his potential. Boy, did Matt show he can score. Rodgers needs to rethink his tactics in certain cases, and make use of what he has.

Rodgers needs to do what he believes in, he knows what he's doing. We can have outside opinions but he's the man in the know.

But aye, Matt has got the lot. Complete midfielder.

The fact that Rodgers chose to put on Forrest against Atletico and go with a makeshift striker ahead of Oh would suggest he isnt convinced.

I just think at the moment he looks to raw and snatches at chances. He had two blocked against Hearts where he looked far from convincing before Iwata puts it away.

The only way I can see Oh getting in ahead of Kyogo is if, * forbid, Kyogo gets injured.

We are Celtic and we should have two quality options up top.
