No other place he'd rather be eh!!

It's sickening seeing him down there and not managing us. Still seems very raw, not over the ex yet :giggle1:.

They've taken to him insanely quick and I honestly think even after a few ropey results they'll stick with him.

The impact he's had already is insane. So surreal.

He's just replicating there what he did here. It doesn't really surprise me that he's started well despite losing Kane. He's a great manager and is now working with much, much better players at his disposal.

Still think he's a bit of a * for the way he left us, but I can't really blame him and as more time passes I get less bitter about it.

It's a bit sickening over-all because I think he's still with us if it was any other EPL team, not even out of sheer loyalty or anything, but it always felt like it was a 3 year thing with Ange, and he had major unfinished business in Europe with us, but you can't reject an offer from a club that typically finishes top 6 in the EPL.

Hopefully in 6 months time we're in a much better place, but for now, I miss ye Ange :90:

It's exactly the same patterns as here

Step 1: Fans in uproar about unproven Aussie
Step 2: "He talks a good game"
Step 3: *Ange Ball* "My manager"

    He's a top top coach.

Agree, I didn't even pay attention to anything when we appointed him. Just noticed what was happening from games and it didn't take that many games before you could clearly see mental in depth tactics, the likes of which you never really seen before or even notice any team other than a Guardiola team playing.

I always wanted to see him going to a bigger team as the tactics he plays just seem to work and made you think, like if he managed PSG would PSG just wipe the floor with everybody as the tactics just seem that perfect and they've worked at all the teams he's managed wether the players were good or pish.

Would be good to see him having a great season at Spurs and since he is getting quite old getting an even bigger job again where you could see the tactics being played with the very top players.

It'll probably never happen as Spurs don't have the players but imagine he wins a Cup or two or the Europa League and challenges for the League this season. Ancelotti will probably leave Real Madrid next summer and Ange got the job.

Watching Angeball with Valverde, Bellingham, Vinicius, Mbappe etc :35:

He talk of the town down there, everyone’s loving him. He’s doing excellent too.

You can see why good managers and good players leave us, we have zero ambition. Then you see the stadiums down there, the huge teams and star players. Massive away followings going every where with you, whereas up here teams would have half their * stadiums empty.

Lewis, to a big degree I agree with you

For guys who have no affinity at all with Celtic, they are just players doing their job. We must have to heavily motivate them financially to get them here in the first place and then to keep them motivated going to some serious half empty shithole stadiums in * weather.

I know they get the chance to win trophies and CL participation, but going to Dingwall or Livingston on a regular basis would make me want to retire.

Equally though, we play where we play and we do not get the revenue here to justify mega spending to attract guys that will quickly lose interest.

That does not excuse the lack of first team ready players pursued this summer. We have spent money on a number of players. I think both of the central defenders will go on to serve us well, but we needed someone who would raise the mood after Ange leaving and the mixed reaction to Rodgers.

As ever, the folks that run Celtic just can’t read the room……

People rightly slaughtered Rodgers for how he left. Ange stayed til the end of the season and won a treble he couldn't have left us in much better fashion

Love him, don't feel any shame about that. He brought me personally as a fan the best football I've ever seen at our club and - for a brief moment - had us functioning like a proper club.

Delighted he's smashing it down there and it is absolutely no surprise. I genuinely believe he's as good as any coach out there, he just needs the top level experience to prove it. Spurs to win something this year.

Edit: what's special about him as a coach is not just his tactics but it's him as a person. That sounds like birthday caird pish but it is unbelievable the effect he has on people. The board, the fans, the players, the buy in he gets is mind blowing.

I think Ange is a very good coach, certainly good enough for one of the better EPL teams, such as Spurs. It remains to be seen if he's good enough to step up to the likes of Man City or Liverppol. We should be cautious about that and wait and see IMO.

He definitely left us in a far better way than Rodgers, but as JC Anton points out, not quite in as amazing position as a fair few believe. The only reason I care about this is not to criticise Ange, but because this misconception is being used as a stick to beat Rodgers with.

I also very much feel that we were always a stepping stone for Ange. I can't imagine him coming back like Rodgers did, for example. TBH, I wouldn't have imagined Rodgers coming back either. He really surprised me with that. I really don't think he gets enough credit for that. It took balls and people who think he didn't have well-paid options with far less pressure are crackers IMO.

McCarthy was signed at a time of total desperation when we needed bodies in. 4 year deal was insane but I don't blame Ange for that, smacks of the mental Dom McKay months. I also think it's unfair to criticise him for Haksabanovic, for £1m he contributed a decent amount over Ange's reign. Siegrist everyone hailed as a great backup at the time, he just turned out to not give a * after falling in love with some influencer lol.

Only ones of that list I think we can really criticise as terrible transfers are Yuki and Bernabei.
