This is what I've been wanting ot hear all summer, that he seems to be accepting of the fact that we're building something under Lawwell jr with our recruitment and scouting and he doesn't have as much control compared to when he brought Congerton in and they gutted what was in place at the time, obviously the manager should be involved at the final stages of giving the nod on what players to push for, but if we're believing what he's saying he'll be much more focised on 'just' coaching the team and trusting our scouting to do it's job and provide the right profile of player we need.

Never doubted him as a coach but the recruitment under Rodgers/Congerton last time was by far my biggest concern about him returning.

And hopefully the smile when asked about Fraser means either recoil from the smile from podence or getting Fraser in aswell as podence for cover :fear::fear:

    2 articles about his presser

1 - he isn't being allowed to sign who he wants
1 - podence and fraser rumours shot down

He never comments on potential transfers

Celtic have been quiet, methodical and perhaps even a bit SLOW this summer in their transfer business.

But with Brendan Rodgers the new man in the boss' seat there's no surprise. He had to do his assessments of the squad he inherited before discovering where he had to strengthen and he has sanctioned a few deals, to be fair to him, since arriving in the Parkhead door for his second stint. Fans are maybe a little impatient with a marquee signing promised as well as reinforcements to take the club to the next level in Europe

Neither of those moves have come to fruition quite yet and if Rodgers' admission in his presser today is anything to go by, supporters could be waiting a little longer.

Daniel Podence of Wolves is one man the champions have been linked with this summer. Conflicting social media reports of "done deals" and £12million fees being reduced to closer to £8million have done the rounds but Rodgers admitted there was NOTHING new in their apparent pursuit of the Portuguese creative star

In the same breath the manager revealed it was as you were with Newcastle's Ryan Fraser, too, despite suggestions he too was on his way to Glasgow. Eddie Howe also weighed in on that one and claimed he was unaware of any Hoops offer.

As we know, football changes fast as do priorities and a goalkeeper has once again sprung up as a position of interest for Rodgers. Ben Siegrist could be allowed to leave the club on loan as he seeks first-team football and that would leave a slot open for the Northern Irishman to add a new face. He wants a stopper who is good with the ball at his feet and Football Scotland understands it could be a goalie on the younger side of 30 who fits the profile.

There is still a good few who need to leave though!

The likes of Podence, Tierney and Livakovic are the sort of players worth waiting until the end of the window for. The Livakovic rumours are pretty much dead but getting the other two near the end of the window would be worth the wait.

Glad we signed Gustaf but that's another week with not much movement elsewhere. 2 weeks of the window left, make the most of it Celtic.

Class but Abada is still in ahead of Yang for now and I still look at that midfield and worry about a lack of power.

Interested to see what we do between now and end of the window.

A load of nothing tbh, talking about our current injuries and how Celtic should be making more signings.

Still a painfully slow window. Got 2 weeks to sort out GK, LB and LW. I still think we need another DM but I think that ship has sailed, unfortunately. Let's just hope we don't live to regret it again in the CL.

I'd expect us to sort out 3/4 of those positions. If we sign some genuine quality or upcoming talent ready to compete straight away then I'll be chuffed.

People have been saying this since the middle of july, the window has been completely normal paced, unless you're determined to be negative constantly, we're not slower or faster than any team out there, I mean we could go out and sign a bunch of journeymen like the huns did because they need bodies for the qualifiers, because signing players fast means they're good right?

Teams in the richest leagues with money to burn aren't finished in the market yet, why would we be?
