Seen on different Celtic supporters sites on Facebook suggesting Celtic Park should be refurbished including increased capacity.
    Do you agree.
If main stand was levelled with other stands capacity is supposed to be 75,000.
There should be underground access for coaches which would allow Celtic Park to hold UEFA finals.
Also pillars that block views should be removed and stands rearranged to allow full access

I think the current economic situation has probably put any plans on ice, but for sure we should be planning on making Celtic park a top stadium. Increasing capacity should be part of that in my opinion.

If we keep going as we are, I personally would expect us to start something in the next 10 years or so.

Realistically the rest of the stadium was built very cheaply, and might be nearing the end of its shelf life sooner rather than later

So we may be better holding off for a full rebuild

We own plenty of land around the stadium, maybe a new stadium is the answer in the future.. then demolish the current one..

Be years down the line I think tho.

What's the size of the waiting list if it's more than 8000 that's alot of revenue the club is missing out on and maybe lower the pitch could get a extra 3 or 4000 out of that but there could be a European league sometime in the future so maybe doing it soon could pay dividends.

If you level main stand and rebuild to same spec as north stand then capacity would be 80000 last time I looked the numbers

Exactly, that's going to be the problem. Even another 10'000 extra seats would make a big difference to our finances though.

Any stadium renovations won’t happen until inflation / cost if materials go down along with interest rate as am sure they would look into financing it then getting name sponsorship to help pay it off

That's alot and the board should do something about it as that's 70,000 every home game and good bit of money.

No way. If you take a look at Scotland's demographics, we'll need to reduce capacity at some point in the next 25 years, not increase it.

Edit: I don't want to be disrespectful to the baby boomer generation (a rather nasty tendency these days) by putting this in a vulgar way, so take a look at the chart, you can see their bulge is bigger than the bulge for millenials, who in turn have had to delay having kids in large numbers so the bulge of their kids is smaller again and sadly people don't live forever.

Could be worse! Take a look at Spain and Italy's demographics if you want a real fright!

The main stand is a listed building. I don't think it can be demolished.

Always disliked the fact there's a relatively long distance between the stands and the endlines. Hope they somehow fix this in the future, possibly by lowering the pitch and adding more seats behind the goals (?).

For hun games and CL games we could probably sell 120k tickets let lone 60k but in lesser appealing games we have thousands of empty seats.
