The recieving side of the enquiry ALWAYS leak it.

It's just common practice. Either to drum up more interest, "forewarn" their own fans, or to tip the negotiations.

There's been NOTHING to suggest that we're on top of improving our existing squad, that logically leads to the conclusion that we AREN'T, as of yet.

My fear isn't that we won't make signings. My fear is that we'll sign pish in the last days of the window.

 

A CB, LW, LB and GK fills the problem positions.. positive that McGowan has stated that.

CM would benefit from additional quality.. but it's definitely a lesser priority.

 

Yeah. I’m quite confident of that too. After that, all we really need is a GK and LB.

Could really do with a left-footed RW, but can’t see it unless Yang goes out on loan or Abada leaves (or we loan Tilio out in January after he recovers from his injury).

GK, LB, and LW along with Lagerbielke would be a good window for me, but as mentioned would love to see a strong, fast, energetic midfielder.

If I'm brutally honest I'd be open to selling Hatate to bring a player of that profile in. I like Hatate and think he's one of our best players, but just feel we need to sell when the time is right and ultimately replace him with a profile we need more.

 

I actually think CM (in the mould of what you described) is more of a priority than LW for Europe personally. The balance in the middle of the park is just not right to be able to compete & protect the defence properly. Assuming Gus is signing, I’d say GK, LB, CM, LW, RW (defo won’t happen) is the order of priority. Given we have none just now, * knows what we’ll be going in to Europe with.

 

Going into Europe with Maeda in LW who can barely trap a ball.. isn't exactly fitting to Rodgers system.

I didn’t say it wasn’t a priority. I just said I think a powerful CM is more of a priority. We absolutely need a replacement for Jota.

 

I’m of the opinion that there will be work happening in the background that’s hush hush, we like to keep things close to our chest and if we’re working with like minded people like CIty Group or a Big club or I can imagine we maybe we make it one of the conditions on our initial approach to a club that no leaks until agreements in place all round.

I'd be very dissapointed if we don't add a CM.

In my view it's the weakest area of the team all things being equal. By which I mean, if we fill in those other positions which should be standard, then we're still very weak in the middle. You saw that last season when we had injuries to Hatate and Mooy. In the 3-2 game v Huns, Mooy looked well off it and when Hatate came in after his layoff he looked little better. This continued into the semi final.

We need an injection of serious quality in there.

 

Rodgers was interviewed in the week building up to the County game and he said he’d expect more incomings soon but probably not in time for the County game. We’re a week on from that game and we only seem close to replacing the player we have just sold.

Defo seems like we’ve had a few knock backs but you’d expect us to have B and C options ready to go at.

I’ll redact all of my posts when they hit us with a few signings out of nowhere but I’m worried about playing Europe as it stands.
