Signed 2 wingers, Jota didn't have great numbers prior to joining us

I’m slightly encouraged by the fact Nawrocki was announced out of thin air with barely any speculation ….

I think we’ll have some first team quality in the next week or so

He had a much, much higher profile.. which you are obviously aware of.

The next one I'd like to see in is an attacking left sided wide player of note - with that our first 11 will at least potentially be as strong as the end of last season.

The panty wetting patter is chronic.. and 90% of the time it's used to shutdown legitimate concerns.

Was just about to say this. Absolutely no two ways about it, the business has been fairly underwhelming.

With Rodgers coming in I was hoping we’d keep the momentum up and get a couple of quality additions in. But it’s been projects - which is fine, but we need more than that. Nawrocki looks like he could potentially go into the team but he’s about it.

First league game is in a week and our strongest starting XI isn’t stronger than last seasons starting XI. In fact it’s weaker.

Are both not right wingers and one from Oz where Jason Cummings looked a pler? And yes we got Rogic from there but how long before he really settled and showed us what he could do.

We need a top replacement for Jota. Just because we took a chance on Jota before doesn't mean we need to do it again.

The money is there to push the boat out without us leaving ourselves financially vulnerable.

Come on mate, Jota came with much more pedigree than both of the lads we have signed this window.

One is injured and not even the best wingers in the A league the other is a young raw player whose weakness in all his stats is finishing. I hope tae * the land on their feet and do well but time will tell.

We’ve sold a player who can create something out of nothing and get goals domestically and in Europe.

I think we all wanted him replaced by someone of real quality who could walk into the first team.

    I understand people feel underwhelmed.

We will all feel like that till its addressed.

But we are clearly the best team in the country with the best squad in the country and have the best manager in the country.

The player we WILL sign will only increase that gap. Yes we might have to jump 2 or 3 hurdles before we get them players in, but we have more than enough in the armoury to do that, and it will be worth the wait.

Just hold the nerve to get that better standard of player. Trust the process.

The panic in here is real and it is making this little period of time unreadable as there is almost no point otherwise coming in here until season is well underway.

Recent history has shown us that some of our best bits of business have come at the either very end or late into August.

I'm pretty sure people back then when ange first came in would have been annoyed at Kyogo being the only striker signed as Edouard was looking to be off for the whole window, until Giakoumakis was eventually signed on the last day.

In Anges first season we lost Eddie, Ajer, Christie, Brown, Ntcham and Griffiths (less said about him though)

With Hatate and O'Riley only coming in during Jan window.

Juranovic coming in late August and as already been said multiple times, Jota, CCV and Giakoumakis coming in on last day

Just give it rest and * have some * patience, we had Eddie starting in the league ahead of Kyogo.

    * Soro was starting league games for at the beginning, with Bitton and Bain also starting against Hearts.

And people want to start worrying because we've sold Jota and Mooy has retired.

So are you saying if you have say 8 players that aren’t good enough you shouldn’t sign any good players until we get rid of some of them? That’s mental.

We are looking for a higher callibre of player than most of our previous signings (9mill+). These type of signings need a lot more work to get over the line hence why we are waiting until the end of the window as these players attract a lot of interest and are probably deciding where to go next.

    That's my logic anyway.

EDIT: And just to add we have been really covert with transfers the last two seasons so this is why we aren't getting too many leaks of who we are really in for. Usually tend to find out 2/3 days away from announcement

    Of course mate aye.

Point is *’s need to calm down because more will come in still got until September to bring players in.

But it’s also difficult for the club to get rid of players who are obviously happy to sit on a wage and hardly play see the Ajeti situation

The truth in all that is somewhere in the middle.

The reality is it should be an ongoing process, we should be moving on the deadwood at a faster rate.

That should be done in conjunction with incoming players.

Issue here is brendan would have wanted an opportunity to assess some before green lighting exits, although some would have been decided and known before then.

I feel the outgoings have been slower than expected. Ie Ajeti knocking back his payoff. Things like this potentially slow some incomings.

Regardless we will be expecting some updates on both soon

Getting rid of players and signing new players has to be done simultaneously, financially we are good but obviously numbers wise we don't want a bloated squad with players who are gonna make little or no contribution.

I'm confident we will see a few big signings in the door, even if it's towards the end of the window, it will happen.

I think it's legitimate to be concerned as the board have previous for only investing in players when we are weak rather than, say, having just won a treble. That goes way, way back, so I understand the concern.

I just think that if it was going to be the same old "good, we're ahead of Rangers and now we can coast until that changes" then we wouldn't have gone out and brought Rodgers back.

It just doesn't make sense to me. So I'm pretty confident.

Finally, we should be getting knockbacks. If everyone we try for agrees to come here, then we're not being ambitious enough. It's only worrying if we let them * us about like with Howe, which doesn't seem to be the case so far, so I'm not worried about that either.

Happy to admit I was wrong if we're in this position the day after deadline day. Well, "happy" is probably the wrong word, I'll be quite upset; but you get what I mean.

Totally agree on clearing the deadwood but I'd say that's just as hard as signing players. They are deadwood for a reason.

The likes of Soro Ajeti and McCarthy will be on very good wages here for their ability and more than likely won't get anything near it at another club. Look at Barakas for example, useless * had to be paid to leave. Finding clubs that want them and it won't mean taking a massive wage cut can't be easy.
