I don’t care about the result. I care about the mistakes.

Today has showed glaring weaknesses in our side that we all knew about before the game.

    We need a new keeper

    We need a centre half

We need a new left back.

we need a quality replacement for Jota

No more projects, we need players who are going to walk into the side.

2/3 weeks before the season opener and we look at shambles at the back.

Pre season friendly or not we should t be shipping 6 goals the way we did.

We shipped 6 against west ham in pre-season before going on to have the best defence in the league that season (granted with a weaker side back then) but it's scary how important CCV is to our defence. We honestly look hopeless without him there.

Yeah but there is a difference shipping 6 to European Conference League champions and a strong EPL side and shipping 6 to the team we buy their best players from.

Good run out. Plenty of questions and test put out... better than any run of mill lacklustre glorified training sessions that some friendlies can be.

I won't be reading into any of the friendly results.

Come back when we are 20+ games deep into the new season and we talk then about panic buttons being pressed

Did you see the team we put out in that match? One player from that defence stayed in the side and that including the keeper who was Barkas

Today we had two defenders and the keeper who’s done two in a row, and a much better side over all.

    It’s * shocking

    Maybe, not sure.

It's been rubbish since Chris Donald sold his interest but used to be wonderful. I've still got 20-odd issues in my bottom drawer.

We need to start thinking about who is actually good enough to pull on a Celtic shirt and walk into our starting team.

I'm less worried from an attacking POV but let's consider our back 5.

We have 3 or 4 keepers and not one of them look up to scratch.

Apart from CCV and occasionally Starfelt when he's partnered with him... we have hee haw else to cover that position that's good enough. Welsh and Scales can't do it.

RB - AJ. Ralston not convinced.

LB - Taylor when he's switched on. Bernebei can't defend.

We need 1LB, 1RB, 2CBs and a starting goalie. I just don't see it happening this window which will leave us a hard watch at times. We can forget achieving anything in Europe and prepare for plenty more scuddings as some of the players we have as back ups wouldn't even walk into some of the bottom 6 teams in our league.

Put four goals past a team in the middle of their season who are tied first in their division in just our first preseason game. Not bad. We've had way more disasterous starts to preseason in the past :giggle1:. Means * all regardless.

It's not our first pre season game. It's third.

Obviously difficult to read too much into these games, but there seemed to be some obvious tactical differences to before.

Clear 4-2-3-1 formation with Hatate next to McGregor, rather than pushed up and wide as an 8 alongside O'Riley. No inverting full backs either. We seemed to want to hit it in behind the full back quite a lot for Abada, I wonder if that'll continue.

One thing I will say is I hope we begin to show a bit more patterns to our play. Huge caveat obviously that Brendan has only had a week or so with all the players but there didn't seem to be much structure to our play going forward, a little more off the cuff which to be fair worked at times.

Compare it with Spurs yesterday who from the highlights I watched seemed to already be implementing Ange's way of playing and patterns of play very clearly.
