Like before, they've made this bid knowing fine well we'll reject it. It's smoke and mirrors so they can redirect blame to us... we should just call them on that and serve it back to them

Because the SPFL and the SFA have no backbone and stand up to them or they don't want the death threats as well as we saw last season with their goal chopped off and the ref and his family got death threats.

They cut it to the minimum allowed by the league rules, anything above that we've had in the past was always a gentlemans agreement between clubs, nothing in place to enforce it, so they're not 'getting away' with anything, just being * because they couldn't handle us winning.

Why is the SFA allowing Sevco to spaff millions on new players, rather than upgrading their stadium to being able to accommodate away fans?

Make them play at Hampden, then.

I'm sure there's always ways of getting around that sort of thing, it would just need more planning and ending up costing more. That's why I can't see any talk of them increasing capacity actually happening, it would require a hefty upfront investment, not really possible when you need share issues for cashflow every season, it's unlikely any bank would be willing to let them borrow large amounts for it while that's the case.

If they can’t upgrade their stadium to a point where it can accommodate away fans, then they should be made to play their home games against us at Hampden.

They cant,,,,,,,play at Hampden as their stadium has preservation orders , it can still be played in.

Parkhead could not be played in due to rebuild .

While Celtic played their home games at Hampden Park during the 1994/95 season, a rebuild started which included the demolition of The Jungle. The Hoops returned for the 1995/96 season with redevelopment work ongoing.

They should be forced to move their games against us to Hampden so that we get a 7000/8000 allocation. Its not us thats holding this daft arrangement up.

Even better - get them to play it at Firhill and give us the back of the goals at one end.

Ibrox is a relic, a * pit, and an embarassment of a stadium

Force them how? There's nothing in the rules that can be used to make them give us the old allocation, we don't have any actual rights to get more than the minimum same as every other team in the league.

Out of curiosity what would happen in the instance we were drawn to against each other in the earlier rounds of the Scottish Cup, where away clubs can take up to 20%:

"For any Match, excluding the Semi-Final Matches and the Final Match, to which admission is wholly or partly by ticket and/or by cash admission at the turnstiles, the Away Club shall have the right to claim admission for its supporters of up to 20% of the spectator capacity of the Registered Ground at which the Match is to be played.

"In the case of Matches falling under the terms of Competition Rule 29.1, the Away Club’s supporters shall be accommodated in an area of the ground which is agreed by both Clubs and the Police authorities after having taken cognisance of the Safety at Sports Ground Act, 1975, where appropriate."

Cracks me up that this was presented as a generous offer, that they were trying to fix the problem and do right by us. How * stupid do they think we are? :56:

CELTIC have told Rangers they WON’T take any tickets for the next Old Firm clash - unless the allocation or safety arrangements are reviewed.

SunSport revealed the Ibrox side had offered the Hoops 700 briefs for the September 3 derby.

That came after the final two Premiership Old Firm games of last season were played without any away fans.

But it now looks likely that will be the case again at Ibrox in five weeks - after Celtic issued their response.

Parkhead chiefs are adamant the proposed 700-ticket set-up simply does not work.

Talks have been held with Celtic fans’ groups and it’s understood they back the club’s stance.

Back in March, the Hoops confirmed they wouldn’t be taking any tickets for the Ibrox match in May due to “safety and security concerns”.

They also recommended Rangers do likewise for their Parkhead visit on April 8.

Celtic cited their reduced support being hit by missiles at Ibrox on previous visits as the major factor in their decision.

Gers chiefs had previously hit out at their own smaller section being targeted at Parkhead.

Celtic are keen to return to a larger away allocation for the fixture and would be willing to offer more than 700 briefs to Rangers going forward.

But they would want that to be reciprocated - which is unlikely as things stand.

And if the 700-ticket arrangement has any chance of working long term, Celtic would want a full review of safety arrangements.

This would include the need to arrive at Ibrox hours in advance of kick-off - a security requirement that has also angered Rangers fans going to Parkhead.

Further talks are expected to take place - but it’s increasingly unlikely that any Celtic fans will be inside Ibrox on September 3.

Rangers CEO James Bisgrove hinted earlier this year that the allocation would not be going up from 700 or so.

He said: “We’ve now sold out our season tickets again for next season which is phenomenal — 45,000.

“The away allocation opportunity for next season is in the corner of the Govan West stand, which means the maximum we can do is 700-800.

“But that’s subject to what the rest of the stakeholders bring to that conversation and we’ll see where it goes thereafter.”
