Jota has only begun to knock at the NT door. The manager will now overlook him and give chances to guys playing in Europe. Established names are safe, until the low quality of the Saudi league takes its toll.
We would beat any Saudi team, I'm positive. They have a sprinkling of stars surrounded by Middle-Eastern players of low standard. Some of these stars are very old and unmotivated, to boot.

Anges way of going to spurs has always felt a lot more sour to me than the way Brendan left and I said that well before Rodgers came back.

He’s getting paid the best part of a million quid a month.

    Of course it makes sense.

Positive is the fee isn't agreed yet.

I imagine the personal terms didn't take long.

"Fancy about £200k a week tax free?"

    "Aye"

"Sound sign here, here and here, right NEXT bring in Hatate"

Always thought he seemed a bit of a hippy so going to Saudi doesn't really tie in with that. Money talks though

Our support makes me * sick these days. Everyone who’s saying negative things about Jota leaving is a self important and self entitled *.

The world doesn’t revolve around us. Everyone leaving isn’t a *.

The fact personal terms are agreed before sale price gives us a bit more power to play hardball. These Saudis arent gonna lose out now on over a few million.. 33million euro and thanks

I'm expecting us to spend a serious amount of cash this window.

We're selling at least one of our best assets for mega bucks. We have a new manager, which means they get a big budget anyway.

We need to be making a statement with signings now.

Not if he wants to have a football reputation. This kind of move makes sense for a has been.

Aye this isn't just normal money either.

We have had players leaving for £20k pay rises in the past. I can't get why people are surprised at why he's turned on by this :giggle1:

    Good point.

In the grand schemes to them what is the difference between £25m and £30m plus? It's a drop in the ocean for their finances.

We need to be demanding the very most and set the standard for future business.

Good luck to him. Personally no bitterness from me. He's my favourite player, love footballers like him with flair and who take on and beat men. My favourite type.

I am finding it hard to be proper gutted about this though. Whether its a combination of the fact I've become so used to it now or whatever but life is too short to sit and greet over a footballer leaving. He doesn't really care so why should I.

Let's get real as well, it's fine sitting on here saying you'd tuen that money down etc foe the sake of your footballing career but in there is a clue as to why he's doing this. Its a career. And a * short one at that.

He could walk into the first training session when back and get an injury that kills him for a while or even forever. It really is that simple.

With this money, like it or not, he can now solidify his future and I imagine will be thinking about his wider family with this one too.

I haven't come.from a rich background, luckily doing OK now but f this was offered to me I'd put whatever feelings I have aside for a year or two and make sure my parents etc were all sorted. It's not a purely selfish decision for these guys it never is.

I get where people are coming from I really do but I maintain that you cannot say you would turn this down unless you're in the room with that contract in front of you. I just don't buy it.

    Anyway. We move.
