I think the club have played it exactly how they wanted it. Had Rodgers been here today when it was announced I don’t think it would have gone down that well.

This gives the support 3-4 days to get used to it and then come Friday hopefully majority be on board with it all. Makes complete sense from a marketing point of view.

Nah I hate all impressionists. Come across as quite sad tbh. Making their living mimicking other people. But you like it so hey good for you. We can't all like the same things.

I think people are just relieved TBH. The Ange thing was a hammer blow just when we seemed to be on an incredible high and a lot of us were resigned to getting a managerial dowgrade. Arguably Rodgers is an upgrade and people are excited to see what we can do building from a position of strength for once. Honestly, have you ever seen the board get a top-class manager in with a promise to back him when we were in a position of strength before? In my lifetime, I've only seen them do that when we were weak and in danger of falling behind. So there's that.

Then there's the post by the GB and it's genuinely hard to know what they hope to achieve by that. It's already done and dusted.

It’s attention seeking from the Green Brigade, plain and simple.

They usually put out decent statements. They could’ve written one about expecting Rodgers to earn the support’s trust.

But, no. Instead, they just post their daft wee Lawwell narrative-fuelled banner which totally contradicted their previous one.

He does a great Brendan Rodgers, but his Ange is abysmal. :56:

Shelby, I would agree with you. The timing wasn't good when they posted it but I still wouldn't slate them or say half the things being said about them for it. People need to put things into perspective. Plus yous are comparing apples and oranges about the two banners. First one totally agree with it as I did the second. The second was definitely warrented. It's not like he left at the end of the season. He * off at a critical end of the season and It could possibly derailed us. Nothing is guaranteed in football although fair * to the players for riding it out and getting the treble that season but it could of easily went pear shaped. Hindsight is a great thing but his selfish ways could of * it. Both banners where appropriate for the different times they where held up.

See my post above. Comparing apples and oranges. If he'd of left at the end of the season, the GB would have been on his side. To walk at the business end like he did, Judas material from him! So, you can't really compare the two.

Yes you absolutely can. The banner read back him or risk losing him. They didn’t back him, an opportunity come up and he left. He actually left us with a cup in the bag, a league trophy that already had the green and white ribbons on it, and in a SC quarter final.

Another thing to think about, is when he left, we also got a lot of money for him and the staff. How much of that went towards his replacement? Very little, because Lennon would have basically taken the job for nothing at that point. The board * over Rodgers, and by appointing someone nowhere near the same level in Lennon, * the fans over as well. Caught up with us in the end.

I'm still unsure how to feel about this. I really didn't want him back, but at the same time, he's a really good manager.

Plus the fact he's even came back rights atleast some of the wrongs.

I'll wait until his presser but I'm mildly excited. Which us more than I thought I'd be last week

I love the fact that some people are anticipating his press conference and expecting him to come out and apologise for his heinous crime of walking out on a job to a more competitive environment, getting rid of his * of a boss, and quadrupling his salary in the process.

People still holding a grudge either have no perspective of football outside of Celtic, which is all too common unfortunately, or they went far too heavy when he left and are too stubborn to backtrack.
