I want him to succeed at spurs. All I've heard at work is it's hard to win a trophy in England and he will fail with spurs. It's not for Ange it's to shut those * up. I pointed out since Spurs last won a trophy West Ham, Wigan, Birmingham, Swansea and Leicester have all won trophies. Can't be that hard.

He said in his recent Open Goal interview (in regards to always being doubted): “You gotta remember where I started. Where I started was probably below the (Scottish) Premiership level in management I was in a semi-pro sort of competition…”

Basically saying there’s not much in the semi-pro Australian league in the 90s and the current day SPL

 

Still weird that he's Tottenham's manager.

Considering we gave him his massive break and worshipped him, anyone else think his goodbye message to us was *? Not much acknowledgement at all.

One minute he was here, pumping his chest and talking about the journey; the next minute he's on a beach in Greece planning Tottenham's transfer window. Still feels pretty grim tbh.

 

I'm over it.

A week is a long time in football. Excited to see who we get as the manager. Hopefully a great tactician and an exciting style of play and able to adapt and change things during a game and use subs when needed. Also not a chest slapper or bullshitter or uses quotes from past Celtic legends to pull the wool over the supporters.

 

Dunno why, but watching that made me annoyed with him, when I'm really not actually.

Genuinely wish him all the best, think if he gets top four next season or a cup win, he will be set for the City job when Pep leaves. And I really * hope he gets that gig.
Would be a fantastic story for him and we will have played our part.

But at the same time, you kind of want him to realise he left too soon and he was guilty of dropping us like a used prossie and he's a bit of a * for that.

He's not really, but still hurts man.

Til we get a new manager announced, then it will just be all best wishes to the big man!

I completely get your point but I feel like I can pinpoint the bit that * me off. It's when he said "I can finally get started". For me saying 'finally' suggest it's been some kind of long torturous wait.

Being a Greek born man, raised in Australia, its understandable that he might want to pursuit a bigger wage and bigger transfer budget etc. On the whole Ange has been nothing but impeccable during his tenure and I haven't felt critical about moving on but the whole 'finally' get started patter has left me disappointed.

 

Aye, if reading in to it, it can irk for sure.

But I'm gonna choose the flip side of it - even though he may have been sounded out by spurs a lot earlier than we know and perhaps he wanted/itching to get there. He done pretty much everything right in regards to sticking out the season, trying his best to take the focus off him etc.

But on the whole, quality manager, honest enough guy, proud we had him here for a couple years.

On the level of Wim Jansen for me.

Celtic were just a holding pen for him while the big EPL job he had his agent working on came round (and I don't mean relegation fodder, imo he's had his eye on Tottenham for a while with their high manager turn over and his agents close relationship with Levy he'd have known they were his best bet)

 

Hopefully sacked by Christmas so we don't have to heat anymore about him
