Only way I'd accept Maresca would have been as an assistant previously to Ange or now with Rodgers or someone similar but he's not gonna leave that role at City working with the best manager around to come here.

For me his appointment would be a step back. There's good and exciting points to him aye, but I'm not convinced.

I think all of those asking for something fresh and exciting would soon change their mind a few months in if it was going sour. Ultimately we are as a support fickle as * and we need a proven, successful manager again who can win games.

Guy on the HB saying that Stephen McManus has told people it's Maresca. He will be the new first team coach under him.

On the good coach does not mean good manager I'll raise you Ian Cathro

Youth coach at Dundee united when they brought through a lot of good Scottish talent
Assistant at Rio Ave, (runner up in both cups)
Assistant at Valencia that got them to the CL
Assistant at Newcastle and Kept by benitez there
    Managed Hearts, was *
First team coach at wolves as they started in the Prem.and achieved high finishes
    Assistant at Spurs
First team coach at Al Ittihad (won the league)

Some people are good coaches, it doesn't nessesarily translate to good managers

McGrory1888 has been awfy quiet the last few days. I'm assuming it's Maresca by his silence

Only way I'd accept him is if he was bringing Pep up the road with him

I’m very aware I’m losing my nerve on this.

But I can’t help but feel we’ll be sitting saying , “Maresca - great coach but just not up to management” :fear:

Scott Brown a couple of days ago was running about Florida saying it was Rodgers and Kolo. Then it was nailed on it was Des Buckingham now Mcmanus is telling everyone it's Maresca.

At Parma he was playing central midfielders at full back, amongst other idealistic nonsense.

He strikes me as one of these batshit crazy coaches, and not in a good way.

Over €33m spent in a second division league - with an already strong side featuring the likes of Buffon - and binned after 16 games.

Whether Parma was a mess or not, it’s a moot point. To qualify for the Celtic job you’d want someone who succeeded in spite of them being a mess.

The only upside to this is that, once it goes * up, it’ll signal an end of Lawwell, his unqualified cronies, the City Group drivel, and hopefully lead to real change at Celtic.
