If his name wasn’t Rodgers, we’d all be creaming our pants if we got that calibre of manager from England. Plus he took Liverpool to within a midgies * of an EPL when they were nowhere near it for 20 years - it even took Klopp a few years to get anywhere close.

Just so happens that he won everything in front of him at Celtic as well. Done better in Europe than Ange - perhaps a lot better given the opponents.

Find it mental that some folk will try and revise his ability as a manager. All I can say is separate emotions from actualities.

Interesting to see that a majority would welcome him back or are undecided - I think it’s fair to infer that if he came back the undecided people would get behind his appointment in the mutual interest of the club.

Also, I think that this poll will only go in one direction as perceptions soften.

If finishing 6th was so easy then Spurs wouldn't have had to come and poach our manager.

Rodgers team won the league in April that year. Absolutely coasted it, they didn't lose a game from August till mid December and were out of sight by Xmas.

If you don't think he would absolutely walk it against a * whos biggest achievement is that * thing on his face then you clearly havnt been paying much attention to his career

    1. It will always be harder getting more out of an already performing group of talented players than it will improving on an underperforming group of talented players. Same goes for anyone that comes in. Tactically I do think there are adjustments we can make to equip us better in Europe however.

    2. I agree his transfer record was poor. The silver lining is that he appeared to identify good players that we couldn’t get over the line. Ties in with point 4 because it will be part of the conversation (if he’s having a conversation). Can you sign the targets I identify, sorta thing.

    3. Maybe, maybe not. Same goes for anyone we appoint. The reason he’s ‘lower risk’ is because he’s already managed successfully here. We’ve seen some highly rated managers join either ourselves or Sevco and flop, but I would be surprised if Rodgers had a similarly catastrophic spell as the likes of Mowbray or Le Geun, given his prior success.

    4. I imagine if he does sign, then the foundations of any repair have been laid.

Rodgers will break players to get success right now.

Then those gullible to buy his bullshit will slowly start to see the snake oil salesman he is and it will start going south.

For all of the success he may bring, his general demeanour and disingenuous actions and promises he has no problem breaking when giving them out to players would lead to disharmony within the club.

See when people say they won’t welcome him back, what does that actually mean?

    Stop attending games?

Boo him at the first home game?

    Boo him all season?

Call him a rat on the internet?

The reality is, a few wins and all will be forgiven.

I certainly am one of those on here who really have been * at the rat for the way he stabbed us in the back. But I do have to admit putting emotions aside there are a lot of valid points been made in terms of him coming back. I suppose one advantage if he did come back would be there would be zero chance of me getting emotionally invested and believing anything he says even if he came back and was as successful as during his time when he was our manager. So I guess on reflection I am officially ok with it if he returns at this point.

I'd be wary now of any manager doing it and not gonna be sucked in by any talk from them in interviews etc

It's like ppl actually forget the football we were playing before he left.
He was getting tactically schooled by Steven * Gerrard ffs

The * is a two season wonder. He's had his two seasons here. He can * do one.

I'd take * David Moyes over the *.

Stop attending games... Easily done, I live in Asia.

Boo him at the first home game.... Again, easily done. Time difference might make my neighbor's think I've lost my marbles though.

Call him a rat on the internet? Sure. He's a * RAT.
A self obsessed, tactically redundant, mental * midget.

Its just an expression I think mostly people just wouldnt be very pleased with his appointment.

I include myself in that group, I think the way he left us is unforgivable and on principle we shouldn't take him back. If it was up to me he would never have anything to do with us again. Plenty of good managers out there I would even take a gamble on someone like Maresca than give Rogers the job again.

Doesnt mean I would boo him or not attend a game but definitely wouldn't sit right with me.

Technically, Lennon come back and initially done well. We actually topped a very decent Europa League group as well to be fair, and played some good stuff doing so. It all went to * of course, but he did come back and do well to begin with.

With the names we have been linked with Rodgers makes the most sense for me.

Rather we have someone else but the names been banded about bar the Bodo manager are very underwhelming.

If its between him and Maresca he wins all day.

Maresca is too much of a risk at this point.
