This notion that the board should get away with appointing a Parma * because we don’t know him and also didn’t know Ange, is ridiculous.

Ange wasn’t an unknown, anyway. He managed Australia at a World Cup and was managing Japan’s biggest club. It was more ignorance on the support’s part.

Champions League football, a bulging bank balance, sold out season tickets, a cracking squad… and the best we can get is one of Guardiola’s 11 coaches?

Appointing Maresca would be a massive unnecessary risk considering the options that are available and the options that would want the jobs.

It's a risk, no doubt. I'm not going to write him off though - I've a feeling it will turn out an excellent appointment.

EDIT: Maresca that is, if it turns out to be him.

Marescas been the only one leaked to the media. They are waiting until the after the CL I reckon. Its probably been him all along. Thorough recruitment process my hole. Probably threw some more CVs in the drawer. Get the board to *

All appointments are a risk but you try to minimise it by gettin someone with experience, although Maresca is currently a coach, he is working with the best manager on the planet.

I’ll back him if he comes in and there’s enough on the man’s CV to justify the opportunity. There are other managers I’d much prefer but I can see the logic in it. Everyone is a risk in all honesty at our level.

Certainly won’t be calling him a “Parma *”, that’s for sure.

    1) How has he been the only one leaked to the media? Where’s that claim come from?

    2) So much conjecture and jumping to conclusions

    3) The recruitment process hasn’t been great in the past but I believe the board have matured since then, certainly since Nicholson took charge

The Sun and the daily record leaked his name in the same night. They were clearly briefed by Celtic. Lawwell Jnr has a hard on for him

You think a CV of being sacked by a Seria B club after 5 months ‘justifies’ getting the Celtic job? :56:

I don’t think so mate, and it seems like a bit of a reach to suggest it. Maresca’s name was always going to be floated after the links last summer and our dealings with the City Group.

Knutsen’s name has been doing the rounds, along with BR too since Ange took the Spurs jobs.

Ange was a risk who had experience and a degree of success in management.

Maresca is a risk who's had less than 20 games as a manager.

Negligence from the board should he be appointed.

I think his CV and experience justifies an interview at the least, regardless of what happened at Parma, who weren’t exactly in a great state.

He’s not my preferred candidate but his philosophy is appealing and would allow for a certain degree of continuity post-Ange.

Not that a * like yourself actually cares, with your imaginary season ticket.

Don’t want Maresca think it will be the wrong appointment and it will ticking backfire big time.

We need someone who hasn’t failed in his first attempt in management.

We can’t gamble with this appointment at all.

You said his CV ‘justifies’ the Celtic job. :56:
