As if Spurs just phoned him up out the blue and said "awright Ange, howz about it eh?" The writing had been on the wall for Conte for weeks before he was fired, everyone knew in February that that vacancy was coming up and Ange had every intent on applying.

Fair enough, he just should have been less of a * and not strung our board along and it's ok to be annoyed that he did.

 

So was he supposed to resign from the job here first before responding to interest from anyone else? Or talk about it openly while still trying to finish the job here, as if that wouldn't have been even more disruptive?

Interest for managers comes when it comes, there's no transfer window for it like players, so I'm not really sure what some people are expecting him to have done differently here.

The question was had he spoken to Spurs this week, probably true that he hadn’t spoken to them in the Cup week, but he had definitely spoken to them. The ITK broke the story in the week, it came out that week that he had been a naughty boy behind our back and the board had no idea. Look at their faces at the final, they were * like never before. That’s why it all progressed so quickly after the cup final.

If you believe that Ange sorted this after the Cup final from start to finish, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

Your comment regarding our transfer targets is so flippant.

Those targets are drawn up, they are sounded out, their clubs are sounded out, their agents are sounded out, there is an incredible amount of work goes into it.

Those players are looking at moving based on style of football and the manager. A change in manager can see those targets move towards another club with more certainty of playing style and success.

New manager now has to convince them to come here. New manager may not even want them and have a different target. Process starts all over again, it’s time wasted that could have been used better had Ange had the balls to be straight up honest and not selfish.

At no point have I said I thought the deal was done after the cup final, from start to finish.

OK enough already time to move on. He's gone so onwards and upwards. Time to stop all the arguments. We learn a lesson from this........don't get so emotionally attached to the next one. He will only deserve that after 3 or 4 seasons of success

 

I agree that we’ll be fine. People are disappointed in the way it’s played out and while he’s left the club in a great position, he could have left us in a perfect position.

Anyway, I’m excited for our future, onwards and upwards, we are in a very attractive position with Champions League football, now it’s up to our board to get us a manager that can take us to the next level.

Doesn't mean he's going to stay forever. Doesn't mean he didn't care about our club or our support either now that he has left.
