He was an excellent manager for us though and could have taken us a lot further if he had stayed for longer. This is what I’m disappointed about and can fully understand others getting upset about this.

I don't feel like condemning him nor do I feel like thanking him whenever he left a job half finished, I'm just very disappointed in him I guess.

Spurs aren't going to offer a rolling contract, hardly any teams do it. When asked about it here, Ange was simply saying that the rolling contract isn't an issue for him, as he likes the pressure of having to perform. Doesn't mean he was never going to accept a traditional contract anywhere else out of principle or something.

Not that it matters now but the bolded bit isn’t true- he knew he was joining Spurs before the final.

 

The contract wasn't signed when he had his last match. It was clearly in the works, but these things can fall through at the last minute for all sorts of reasons. Do you expect him to say goodbye before he's left, when if it went * up, he could have still been here next season? Because the board were very keen for him to stay and he still would have been under contract, so unless he was going to be sacked for speaking to another team, he would have looked stupid for saying bye if it all fell through.

Whether a contract was signed with Spurs or not his intent was to leave us for a new challenge so why not just say it's been a good 2 years, happy to end on a high, thank you for everything but now I want to look for a new opportunity? Because he didn't want to let on to the board that he was maneuvering his way out so he could keep us a back up.
