You didn’t agree that we needed a defensive midfielder.

I’m only pointing out that you only seem to appear after a defeat or when something is negatively impacting the club. That’s usually a sign.

Absolutely Ange, but in the other way. You were here for weeks after that line.

Funnily enough, I still hope Ronny will come back one day. He's still not ready for Celtic but he's worked his way back up to a pretty respectable job now. If he can make a success of it at Brugge (obviously we don't know yet if he will, but if he does) then I'd like to see him on the shortlist next time.

It would the incredibly naive to completely rule out that being the case to be fair. We are all talking about how difficult it will be for Ange to work under Levy. Lawwell has effectively been our Levy over the years.

More I think if it potter is the outstanding candidate

The guy done fairly well in cl with Chelsea even though they were falling lampard record after he left was actually worse was on a hiding to nothing the amount of players they signed no balance what so ever

I reckon Maresca could do a great job as head coach, with a good DOF alongside him. Seems experienced in the game, his coaching was a success at City. Not sure he'd be a great choice for managing the whole show though, especially in the goldfish bowl of Glasgow.

If we can’t get Knutsen then I agree Potter should be our priority.

Given the position we currently find ourselves in, a pretty healthy one in all honesty, Maresca shouldn’t even be getting a mention in my opinion. Someone who has had one managerial appointment and completely failed should not be on our shortlist. Prior to Ange I can understand why he would have been, not now.

This is a massive point in history for the board again. We are a very attractive proposition at this stage. Champions League football guaranteed, a very good squad, and very healthy bank balance to improve the squad. Has there ever been a better time to try and “sell” the club to any incoming manager.

He’s not got the experience as manager we need though, it would be a big risk and there’s better options out there.

I think thats fan nonsense and blame though they say that about Levy. What does Levy not allow? They've spent £250million since 2021. Does he punt all their players? no, he's known for keeping players and hating selling them.

The biggest blunders he made was appointing Mourinho and Conte who were terrible fits for Spurs but even then they got "top" managers.

He's given Spurs all the tools they need to be great it's just managers have made a * of it.

If we hire a project again that’s all we will ever be hiring. Worked with Ange but that’s not to say it will always work. We should be in a position to hire someone fairly big right now.

    Dominant domestically
    Great squad
    Huge assets
    Money in the bank
    Champions League

Add in managing infront of 60k every fortnight.

More chance of that than us getting Potter I think :giggle1:

I don't know who the next manager will be, but it better be someone forwards and not backwards, if it's backwards the board can get *. They just got 5m from Spuds for Ange, get it spent on the next Managers contract.

People say that but do you need experience really? Ange won the League twice in a row in his first job 25 year or so ago.

Arteta at Arsenal, Guardiola at Barcelona. You don't actually need experience. You just need to be a good manager and you can pull it off, Marseca might be a good manager probably not suited to Parma who are *, some managers do better when their style is to be attacking to manage better teams. Where some managers like even Conte and Mourinho are * at Spurs/mediocre at Roma even though they could probably successfully manager Bayern, Real Madrid, Man City and PSG.

Where we are in comparison to the rest of Scottish football any remotely half decent manager should win the league with us next season. Have no worries about that at all.

We can't afford to gamble on Maresca.

There's decent sounding managers out there we should be talking to.
    Bosz,Glasner,Hutter,Seoane,Clement.
Don't even know much about most of them tbh just going by Wiki, things I've read on here and the fact that they're not the names on any lists I've seen and surely can't be any worse .

I'm not sure I do. He'll not be very happy with us if he does. :giggle1:
