Agree that there was a speculative element of realised potential in their fees but Kyogo is an international (albeit overlooked for the WC but now back in) and a guarantee of goals if you give him service.

He's also a consummate professional too and looks after his body & diet. No reason he can't play at the level he's at for another 5 years

Do you think Kyogo is at the level to replace Harry Kane? Or be a regular starter for spurs, seriously?

That's not the question though, Kane is a £100m+ striker - so clearly Kyogo isn't at the same level as him, few are.

My contention was with £15m being an unbelievable fee.

As for being a starter with Spurs, time would need to tell. He'd certainly have scored more than Richarlison's single league goal this season.

Chances are they'll be signing 3 strikers this summer.

At Kyogo's age, he'd be daft to go and sit on Spurs' bench (look what that did to Fraser Forster: he's a shadow of himself now). If he wants a crack at the EPL, he should be joining a mid-table club where he'll actually play.

15m would be decent business in my opinion, i don’t see us getting more than that if ange wants him. He won’t come for him anyway, Tottenham can buy any striker in Europe pretty much.

Aye, I don't know how much truth in the Spurs links there is tbh. I'd be disappointed at 15m all things considered though - his goals to secure us automatic CL football are worth more than that to us, provided he's happy to stay.

If any club wants our best players we should be making sure they pay top dollar and give the new man most/all of it to kick us on.

If Ange thinks Kyogo is good enough to be a first-choice striker at Spurs, he won't be Tottenham manager for long IMO. I mean no disrespect there, Kyogo is easily the best striker in Scotland since Moussa Dembele and I do think he's good enough to play in the EPL. But Spurs' goal is a top 4 finish. They'll buy an elite striker.

To the first part all I’ll say is it would be a sad situation indeed if a bit of light joking about a manager leaving a club at the end of the season would ‘get a rise out of people’. Sad for those individuals, that is. I’d suggest to them some perspective and maybe a break from football.

To the second part, I’m reading once again about Ange ‘engineering’ his move to Spurs with no explanation at all about how that works.

I’m just looking for someone to explain that to me. How did he engineer it? What does it mean? Or are we just making nonsensical * up because we’re upset?

If any player that Ange brought in goes with him it’s for money alone. It certainly ain’t for guaranteed European football.
They aren’t even in European football next season.

With the caveat that it all depends who comes in***

I’m generally for a few of our players being sold and it’s annoying that Ange might not take any.

I know it sounds unusual but I just feel the unique circumstances of us having so many Japanese players and with us playing a particular style, I don’t think it would be the worst thing if a few of them moved on for good money and the new manager given a much larger pot to bring in a bunch of players.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

According to spurs live radio There no chance spurs paying 30m for kyogo they have offered 10/15 max.* thing if he played in Portugal holland even Ukraine you probably be looking 30 40 million a English team pays. Playing in SPL we will always be shafted. I'm still hoping a euro league is our way out of this.
