You glossed over the importance of a holding midfielder when we spoke about this previously. However, tonight you are using it as stick to beat Ange with and talking about the importance of having one.

    I know man.
We were all in with what we were offering Ange to stay so surely that's still on the table to push the boat out and attract someone of real quality.

I don’t think you can entirely blame the owner there. Potter was rubbish and deservedly got sacked. Couldn’t get a tune out of some very talented players.

    Exactly..

Surely we go for who we believe is the standout candidate over the next few days and back him with what he wants..

I get Ange built up the trust to even have those conversations but we really can ctill kick on here....big time..

Tend to agree with you. Would be a massive gamble to appoint him.

It would be a total joke. We are in the Champions League and have millions but we appoint guy who's managerial experience was 4 months where he totally bombed.

This is it, just show some ambition. Guaranteed CL group stages and finances/sellable assets at an all time high there's no better time to be attracting a manager.

I'm strangely calm about all of this despite the fact I thought Ange was top drawer for us. We're in good shape overall though.

    Aye.
Above my pay grade but surely get them in for a sit down and talk about their previous work and what they've done with a budget, tell them the kinda money available here and discuss their plans for it and see if the two visions align then get it done.

He actually had them playing okay football but they couldn't score because for whatever reason they never signed a striker last summer.

They've been a mess since Boehly took over. Think the blame lies with him more than anyone else.

That is the one positive about Ange leaving for Tottenham. It shows a good potential foreign manager that he can get his big financial payday if he gets it right with us.

We're definitely in good shape mate. Best we've been for as long as I can remember whilst looking for a new boss..

I just hope we get it spot on and it doesn't change too much from the last 2 year as every week was a buzz..

It seems so long ago, but if I remember right, Potter had them playing some great stuff at the start of the season. DeZebri done very well to continue on from where Potter left, but in my opinion, Brighton would have qualified for Europe had Potter stayed as well.

I think DeZebri has them playing even better than they were under Potter, which is saying something.

Big boots to fill imo in terms of keeping that relentless football and buzz going but not impossible for sure.

They certainly played decent football under Potter no doubt. But rarely looked like scoring. IMHO DeZebri has taken them forward and made them a more threatening outfit and more fun to watch and I disagree I don't think they would have stayed in a European spot under Potter they didn't the previous season after a good start again under Potter as his Brighton just didn't score enough goals.

He was dealing with primadona egos. He would pretty much have a team willing to work for him here (like Sweden). He's ruthless though, left Swansea for Brighton and Brighton for Chelsea so he'd be off in 2 years but at least we'd know this time and plan accordingly.

With the compo the annual accounts should be interesting reading when you factor in the money from gg and juranovic aswell
