    That’s all fine and well
We will always accept a manager that leaves us for bigger better things/money
Just don’t fill us with * and gain popularity by hoodwinking us with talk of legacies etc

He arrived to a flood of scepticism and ridicule from not only huns and the media, but some of our own. Sacked by Christmas, Postecogwho, etc etc. He quickly shut everyone up, had us purring to his tune and had the huns and media in absolute fear with not only his sharp tongue but his exciting and relentless football.

Who could have really imagined just how good he'd be? Not only him but the players he recruited. In terms of football and excitement, he's up there with the best in my lifetime. He gave us great thrills and ultimately unprecedented success, considering where we were when he took over. I'll remember the past two seasons fondly.

He said many things, things we wanted to hear. He talked about standing on the shoulders of giants, quoted Tommy Burns, made clear that he regarded us as special and everything he could have imagined and more. I believe he was sincere when saying those things, even now. He also said he'd never come close to achieving what they did, it seemed modest at the time but maybe an early nod to his plans to not be here long term.

Some people will see him as a snake like Rodgers, but not for me. Whilst it's clear the negotiations and contact with Spurs was underway well before Saturday's final, he clearly expected to be here next season up until very recently, the January window and comments around the time of the league cup suggest that. Could he have handled the past week or two better? Probably in a way, Saying speculation wasn't on his radar was a clear lie, his agent was working on it for him, and he could have been more transparent and forthright. I understand why that could leave a sour taste with some.

That said, I don't see how that would have genuinely helped the situation when we're about to chase secure a historic treble. The players clearly didn't know up until today, and they said preparation and the manager were professional as ever up until the final. I don't think he ever took his eye off the ball, even after he knew he was off. Managers tend not to comment on speculation and when they do its usually with positive news to those listening. I dont personally blame him for keeping quiet on it. Either way it was going to dampen our celebrations.

Overall, I feel like he has left prematurely. It doesn't feel like the natural end and I'm pretty gutted about that. He was an amazing manager for us and not since MON have we experienced that kind of connection to a manager. I doubt he feels its a natural end either, Iook at the Asia tour. He just got an offer that he couldn't refuse. A top 6 EPL club, who'd have though that 2 years ago?

Goodluck Ange. Time will be kind to you - Aslong as you keep your hands off our wee Kyogo.

    We move on.

what you say is plausible, but imo he was always using us as a stepping stone to fulfil his ambition.
In a millionaires world…..Would you want to retire with 5 mill or 25 million?

    I’m totally bereft.

Ted Lasso and Ange leaving in the one week is just too much to take.

I don’t think I’ll ever take my clothes off ever again……….

I don't doubt that, I think he was always going to try his luck in England. Just didn't expect it to be so soon, especially after giving it talks of leaving a legacy here etc.

Your second point insinuates that money was a driving factor for him to leave and I don't really think it was. Whether you retire with 10m or 20m you're still set for life aren't you. Chasing more is just greed.

I have never been more interested in a EPL manager's fortunes. Will be watching him closely. He's clearly a solid manager but he's going into another stratosphere managing a top 6 club in England - managing players who are multi-millionaires, going toe to toe with the best managers in the game who lead the richest football clubs on the face of the planet, many of which are mature, years-long projects like Pep and Klopp.

No more 75% possession grinding down stuffy SPL 10 man defenses, no more dwarfing the playing budgets of all your opposition (sorry to echo Beale), no more having the backing of 60000 at home and there is zero guarantees he gets the Spurs support into resonance.

Not only that, no more conferences and interviews with the bumbling half-wits that occupy the prominent positions in the Scottish media. Part of his charm for us was watching him scythe those gormless stuttering idiots down like wheat. The English media is full of much stronger personalities. One can't help but feel that dealing with the jokers up here inflated Ange's confidence somewhat. I think he will inevitably pick fights against pundits in the early stages of his tenure down there, it seems to be part of his formula for creating a siege mentality in the support. Will make for interesting viewing.

    I personally don't think it's about money.

I believe his age is a huge factor. You get a bit selfish with career decisions and legacy when you get into the 40s and I think with him 57 he knows he won't get many more chances like this to manage in the "perceived" top leauge in the world.
His stock will never be higher unless he maybe done another treble with European success.

I don't like it but I totally understand it.

I suspect they all probably had a very good idea just from how obvious his body language was at the cup final. Wether he confirmed it for them or not who knows I'd guess not.

Compare Cals post match interviews to Ange's it was so obvious that Ange was lying through his teeth, Cal (to me) seemed pretty genuine when he said they hadn't been told anything. His if it's the end then what a way to say goodbye comment in the press tunnel seemed a bit pointed though, think he may have been as fed up with Ange denying the obvious as all of us.
