Thanks for the memories Ange and all the best but we move on. Because guess what- we never stop. And forward we go.

Different situations, these were people that had been here for years and had stayed long past the point where they could depart through the front door. He's only been here 2 years, he's not a club legend and he's leaving before he's accomplished what he set out to do in Europe. It was never going to go down well. If he'd announced 2 weeks ago, it'd have just brought the uncertainty and hostility forward to our cup final. A bolt in the night is underhanded but realistically it was the best option both for him and us in terms of our football.

I now know how the ladies I’ve broken up with over the years must’ve have felt.

A hollow emptiness, pain, regrets and wondering how life can possibly go on without him/me!

(She’s currently nagging me about t shirts and washing, if she’s not careful she’s getting Anged too!)

When your legendary keeper is like ten years older than the manager I don’t think the dynamic was ever gonna work

Anyone got a link about being offered a new contract and him turning it down?

Nice of you to be noticing my behaviours, scarily I'm also a spanner when sober, something I'm very proud of.

Now as I said earlier, away and clean yourself up. :50:

If that's the case then that shows we haven't learned our lesson, while Ange was probably quite happy staying here, I doubt he gave assurances he'd turn down a job like this either

Another mercenary uses our Club as stepping stone to the riches of the EPL, Some call him a Legend, not a chance, He brought us success domestically but failed in Europe. No doubt about his ability, gave us a treble and brought in players for a rebuild when we were a mess. But most of those players came from Asia because of Ange. Some are saying he leaves us in a good place but judge that when we get to the first game of the season and see how our squad is decimated, another rebuild coming. He has strung the supporters and Club along, saying the right soundbites, maybe even strung some of the players along as well.

Okay….Let’s assume we are talking about Ange….these are tangible terms and conditions in his world.
He is ambitious, he took a chance to join us and Celtic FC took a chance on his appointment.
He has supreme confidence in his own ability.
On this forum we were incessantly told about him from Aussie followers…he had * like status.
He is confident, ambitious and wanted to test his ability with Celtic to win domestic trophies in a European League
His status is high in Australia and raised significantly after the history making success he proves with Celtic.
Status in Australia would rise immensely if he became the first Aussie manager in the EPL, again history making!
At 57 years old and with a young family do you choose a comfy life with a DECENT ( your word)wage or choose a job that supplies a substantially EXCELLENT salary that offers financial security for life in addition to a termination contract that provides millions of pounds for the kids future and he doesn’t need to work again.
At 57 years old and twenty odd years in football management in different countries, when you have been chasing a managerial/coaching job in Europe do you see the Spurs offer as a maybe last opportunity to manage a top tier team in the EPL…which is a life time ambition.

I would hazard a guess that the majority of people would take the opportunity.

Albeit, it is harder for us Celtic fans to view a job better than ours, but the reality these days are players and managers are mercenaries.

So Leon, to answer your question……..In the real world and with a heavy heart, I would take the security for my family.
Knowing what I know now, health can be here one minute and away the next.
    Hail Hail

There are a million plausible reasons why he'd leave to join Spurs but can we nip this "financial security for his family" pish in the bud please?

He's already a multi millionaire and made a fortune from football management. He was obviously on a pretty penny here too, and if the reports are correct he was due a massive pay rise had he stayed on.

He could retire tomorrow and his family would still be set for life. It's pure nonsense.

Majority I agree with apart from the money turns out it’s only 500k more than we offered mainly because we offered 3 years and they offered 2 years it all came down to ambition he grew up watching English football so that was always his dream I’d presume

As I said before he likes full control as manager of the football club but he is going to be appointed head coach it will end in tears down there 100%
