The Slot thing stood out so much because that almost never happens. Fair play to him but him turning Spurs down shouldn’t mean we expect Ange to do the same.

Aye * the EPL. I hate it as well. But the reality is he’s not exactly a young guy (Slot is about 15 years younger btw) so probably doesn’t have another 15-20 years in management. He’s incredibly ambitious and, I might be wrong, I’m sure he’s said something about wanting people to take Australian football seriously and put it on the map.

What better way to do that than go to the most watched league in the world and take Spurs from almost mid table to CL football and maybe win a cup?

We all know what he has here and it’s nothing to be sniffed at. But he has no connection to the club, prior to coming here. As a professional, he’d much rather challenge himself coming up against Pep, Klopp, Ten Hag, Arteta, Pochettino etc. As opposed to Beale, Robson, Johnson and so on. He’d rather be at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge on away days. Not Dingwall and Dens Park.

I just cannot begrudge the guy. Same way I have no issues with Virgil, Frimpong, Dembele etc going to bigger and better leagues.

I wouldn't doubt Ange to have the same impact at spurs as he had here and have them pushing the top 4 and playing great football.

He'll be backing himself to do that, and from there he'll get all sorts of job offers. Wouldn't bet against him going on to manage PSG, Man United, or Chelsea in the future.

He easily good enough to do all that, and he has the confidence to back it up. That's why he was so successful here, and unfortunately why he's away so quickly as well.

If he starts at Spurs the way he started here he will be out the door by Xmas we embraced once he was appointed and we could see what we were building after a couple of games but with Spurs he will be starting on the back foot in terms of the fan base

I’m gutted, but I wish him all the best.

Let’s get this sorted quickly and get the right man in with enough time to prepare for next season.

I think his defence will get carved up by the big boys.

He got time to teach the players the structure, the way to defend. However could you imagine our current defence against City. Sure he'll score alot.. but in that league even the * teams can exploit that inverted full back nae defenders anywhere to be seen tactic. It will go one of either way. He's hailed as a genius because he's winning every game 7-6 or Harry kane got injured and he's lost every game 6-0.

Fair dos mate good post. I’m just sick of modern football. I understand players will come and go but I would love a decent manager to genuinely fall in love with the club and give us four or five good years.

Probably more important we put a structure in place to lessen the damage when this happens.

Been stringing us along with his non commitment BS.

Totally ruined what should have been a joyous weekend under the guise of wanting himself the players and us to enjoy the moment, anyone thinking this has not been going on the background needs to wake up and see we've been lead down the garden path, you'll be surprised how long I'm here ...yeah too right on that one.

No road back for him now whether he thinks he can go or stay.

I just hope he fails miserably as that might stop the tapping up of our best people.

Celtic is bigger than Ange...we move on!

Well not really in this instance because we cant really knock back the approach and wont be eligible for any compensation.
I can see how it mitigates the risk initially, but we knew what Ange was about a long time before now.

Some fair points but working for Spurs under Levy hasn’t really worked for anybody except maybe Pochettino.
He won’t be doing Aussie football any favours by getting sacked within a year.
Plus let’s be honest, it’s not really about ambition or the betterment of Aussie football- it’s all about money.

Different challenge facing him down there. Also, it’s a revolving door for managers.
