A lot of green tinted spectacles in here, as obviously would be expected. At the end of the day, so is Ange clearly a very ambitious man and Celtic is not his boyhood club. He’s closing into 60 and only two years ago he was managing in the Japanese league. If Spurs have put a decent offer on the table, I’d imagine he’ll take it, and I wouldn’t blame him for it at all. Managing a top 6 club down south is a bigger pull for 99% of managers than to manage us, unfortunately. The prestige (and money, obviously) that comes with it is just not something we can compete with.

Yes, we’ve got CL football, and yes, maybe we’ll be able to do something of note in Europe next season. However, if Ange manages to turn things around for Spurs, he’ll have proven himself at the “top stage”, which I’d imagine is what he reckons he could be capable of doing, and I wouldn’t bet against him. IF he goes, I’d wish him all the best.

57 with kids. I don’t know how Ange has made ends meet for the past 2 years on a Celtic manager salary.

Not wrote on here for a few days as I've been processing some bad news personally.

I have no idea if Ange will stay or go. But what I do know is that whatever happens, Celtic will always be there. I hope we can all enjoy tomorrow and be celebrating history being made at full time.

So as a professional manager he should just stop having any ambition of testing himself in a bigger league and stay here forever? I mean that would be magic if he did, but it's not realistic.

Maybe it’s because I’m a poor tramp but I often wonder how much does anyone really need?

Would any purchase be off limits if you earned say 10 grand a week? Might need to get your Bugatti from Brighthouse on a ridiculous hire purchase agreement but it’s doable.

Kind of gives it away does it not didn’t do treble last year and it doesn’t hurt his rep . Only way him losing cup would truly tarnish legacy is if it was his last game

No, I just think he might regret going to Spurs and would really like him to stay here.
There also seems to some kind of assumption that he is currently poorly paid- he’s not.

Who said forever think everyone would agree 3 is the magic number and him leaving after speeches about being here longer than expected to then leave in second year is a bit premature

He's playing his cards close to his chest with the shitehawk media, same as he has always done in his time here That he's been praised for doing on this board plenty in the past, giving them nothing, but now that the interest seems more genuine and it's not what you want to hear, the same responses are selfish and he's doing us dirty? It's Ange being the same Ange.

Fergus McCann is the only other candidate.

Although Frimpong might do it too.

I meant bigger domestic TV audience as well. Millions more watch the games down there.

No he is not. It is not about the money with Ange anyway. Its the challenge and ambition. Same as when he first rocked up in Scotland against a wave of negativity about his appointment

Anyway it's bigger and more sexier than St Mirren versus Ross County = why he may leg it!

The only things we know with any certainty is that he's in the mix to manage Spurs and he hasn't ruled it out.

The deal itself may be done or may not be done.

If the deal ain't done yet, no reason to say he's going.

OTOH if it were a done deal, the timing of it is really poor. But he didn't pick when Spurs would come looking.

It would benefit no-one to announce he's leaving on the eve of the Cup Final. There would be a media frenzy, all the attention would be on him and not the final and he'd be crucified for making it all about him.
