Yep, Gerrard done it everytime, it was the only tactic the wee * had. We never seemed to wise up to it. Hopefully Ange does

Sadly that isn’t true though. When was it we lost to Bodø? 15 months ago? They played a basic counter-press and we literally had no answer for it.

They’re a better side than the Huns, but since Beale came in, he’s played a v similar (if really basic) counter-press against us, and every time it’s neutralised us to some extent or another, and it actually feels like it’s getting worse per game.

Just looks more like Ange is ignoring his own responsibilities in this. No one’s asking him to suddenly change the entire style or switch to 4-4-2 or whatever; but if he made the full-backs overlap rather than invert, and had the wingers come narrower, that’s all it would take to make players more available for a pass so that our midfield doesn’t get isolated and haemorrhage interceptions and counter-attacks.

But instead he’ll chap Nicholson’s door and say he needs better players, which overall we do, but not in order to outperform the Huns. He should be more than capable of that with what he’s got. About time someone actually held to him to account for not making an obvious change that first reared its head 15 months ago.

This is a * mental take, mate. The reaction to one loss to the huns has been a riot in here and elsewhere.

Aye, we were poor. Looked off it in midfield and didn't take our chances, defensively weak. But to suggest that game is evidence Ange doesn't learn from his mistakes is mad. This counter press you're talking about, Rangers have tried it all year against us (maybe barring the 4-0) and we've won 4, drawn 1, lost 1. We have controlled the majority of these games. If you've not noticed the adjustments to our system since Bodo then frankly you're not watching closely enough.

From my perspective the most obvious take is numerous changes to the squad - away to the huns - was always going to be problematic.

The league was already won and maybe some players had an eye on the Cup Final. If we needed to win that game it would've been a very different approach and mindset from all involved.

Or you could take it in context and acknowledge that it was treated like a glorified friendly and half of our team were not normal starters and on top that Hatate still doesn't look fit. The league is done and dusted and we're one game away from a record breaking treble but aye we were * against Bodo Glimt a year and a half ago :giggle1:

    Well done Ange

What a season it's been. An unbelievable amount of goals scored, a record 9-0 away win, and a treble on the way.

The absolute mental takes continue, from Maeda isn’t good enough, Kyogo is a favourite and shouldn’t be starting over GG and now Ange hasn’t learnt about Moley/Slippy :56:

Ffs, giving Ange tactics lessons :56:* has lorded over the huns this season, knocked the * out of every competition and sunk the knife into what was left of their league campaign.

Some of you lot are mingin.

There's a lot of self entitled people in our support who almost pee the bed at the thought of losing to them. I've lived through some bad times supporting this team and you learn to take the good with the bad. We are on top right now and people still find a reason to look to the negatives. So we lost a game.........but we learnt far more from it. Ange will know what he has to do. His interest is purely on how to make this a better team and a better football club. He probably really couldn't give a monkeys about this "Old Firm" thing.

Yep! One bad game didn't define our season :50: We have seen enough to know that with the right tweaks we could be something special.

    Exactly that.

You'd be hard pressed to find a game that is won when a team don't have 3 main starters in defence not in the starting 11.

To much tunnel vision going on looking at 1 single meaningless result rather than opening their eyes and seeing the context behind it all the bigger picture.
