Norwich City - Roeder rules out move for Celtic striker

City boss Glenn Roeder has categorically denied that Celtic striker Chris Killen is anywhere near his radar:

When asked about the rumours linking Killen with a move to Carrow Road, Roeder was fairly decisive with his response:

'Absolute... nonsense. I was going to say something beginning with 'b', but there are ladies here.

'There hasn't been [a bid], and there won't be.'

Yep, I'd say that can be classed as a categorical denial..

He rarely gets a chance to be fair to the guy....an odd 10-15 mins here and there is harsh on the boy.

Killen is another average player who has made it on to the wage bill. Just another one we need to offload i'm afraid. Isn't even a useful back up as far as i'm concerned. Has looked poor every time i have seen him in the first team.

Did you see killen when he played for hibs he was a great player and he only get a very limited time on the park, give the guy a chance. how many 1st team games has he started how many has he came on as sub and how many mins has he played for us in total, very few....... he could be a great player for us if given the chance and riordan should be given his chance too and played up front. saying that though maloney and sammy looked really good together so maybe that would be a better partnership than jvoh and skippy.

I actually think Killen has a lot of decent qualities (good touch, good at holding up and linking) but he is very short on pace and change of pace. I think that is a problem at a high level. He is only useful deep inside the box. However JVOH is IMO one of the best old fashioned big penalty box strikers in the world and is very underestimated IMO. We would miss him hugely if he went and the big fees being suggested for him by teams chasing him are entirely justified IMO. Only his age makes them tempting because they are huge fees for a 30 year old.

good point re:Deeks. That role of withdrawn striker in a 4-4-1-1 that Maloney played yesterday would have suited him 100% and I am amazed he never got the chance to play it. However, Maloney is better and unless WGS starts playing that formation regularly then I cant even see him playing backup. I am a WGS fan but playing Deeks wide left is a huge blind spot by him. He is clearly not comfortable there and is very good more central.

Think he is better than he looks. We keep feeding him straight balls from deep instead of from much more advanced wide positions and that doesnt suite him but he still has done amazing considering he had missed about half the games he could have played.

I'd keep him, he's not a tremoundous drain on resources and has shown he can score goals in the SPL. Every team needs players like Killen in their squad, you can't expect to have 20+ first team players and keep them all happy.

He's possibly goin to Leeds. Think its on bbc website, and text. 400,000 or 500,000. Sounds ok. Doesn't look like Riordan is leaving today. Balde either.

Be happy if all the rumours here were true.
