Thought he was our best player today, created numerous chances.

 

Solid as ever, and seems to be getting down the line and crossing it more often now which is great to see.

 

Anyone got the gif of him bullying two players first half in the one move?

 

Crossing was miles better than anyone else today. Him and Oh when he came on stood out for me.

Didn't look at all happy at getting turned and meg'd though. Lovely bit of skill by their winger.

 

He's better than Juranovic, abundantly clear..

Maybe not as technically gifted on the ball, but his defending and delivery is miles ahead.

 

Some of the crosses he was pinging in was beautiful!!

Edit: deceptively quick aswell and teams are starting to be aware of him. Think that's Hibs and County that have tried to single him out now to stop him playing. They are trying to close him down quickly.

 

Thought he was excellent.

We sold our first choice RB and his replacement is not a downgrade. That's good business. Whether he is technically better than JJ is a seperate argumentment imo.

 

Thought he did great but their winger was a handful - he wont be happy the way he dealt with him at times.

His crossing and strength are superb.

I love him 1000 times more than Juranovic. 100% an upgrade, for me, so far.

 

People can argue whether Juranovic has more techncial ability and all that * but Johnstones determination and attitude instantly elevates him above Juranovic whose heart wasnt in playing for Celtic after a few months of being here. * Juranovic we are best shot of the wee shitebag give me Johnstone any day.

 

I thought he was class in his first year but kind of went off the pace a bit, saw it in Mooy and Maeda too. Probably World Cup bubble wrapping but I didn't really see him lift a finger this season.

His head wasn't here and when that happens, you're gone. He needed gone. It was the right time for everyone.

We've 100% upgraded though. I'd have Johnston over Juranovic every day of the week.

If we’re going down the comparison route, he’s a good mix between Jura’s best qualities and Ralston’s best qualities. With a lot of his own quality that outshines both, JJ and Ralston both have parts of their game that you’d rank ahead of him but AJ has everything all round.

Biggest positive for me beyond anything he’s shown ability wise, is mentality, he’s strolled into a close nit team, to replace a very popular player in the squad that was being replaced and leaving and the full team trusts him as another leader on the field.

Even how much we put him out in the media, how he talks, his attitude. He’s came in and immediately has improved the mentality of the squad, and what was there already was already pretty * special.
