It's debatable if Scotland really need him at the moment anyway, with Tierney and Robertson both being available.

Why do we only produce left backs? :56:

I hope his injury isn't too bad.

Like others have said, I'd only play him against the huns tbh. Bernabei will have to do against Hibs, County, Killie and Motherwell.

I agree with leaving him out against Hibs but being realistic if he doesn’t play against Hibs and Ross County he then is straight in against them having not played for a month which would then impact his match sharpness.

I would be playing him if fit at Dingwall even if he is first sub off but he will need game time before playing them if he is available. The same goes for the cup semi, I would leave him out against Killie on that pitch but play at home to Motherwell.

Gutsy Greg Taylor has been playing through the pain barrier to help keep Celtic’s Treble charge going.

The left-back has been struggling with a lower leg issue but has been managing it in a bid to help Ange Postecoglou’s side get through this vital stage of the season. The 25-year-old has nailed down the left-back slot at Celtic and has been a big player for the champions.

Taylor has been troubled by the injury for a couple of weeks and the Hoops medical team have been keeping on top of it and giving him regular treatment. The defender was left out of the midweek league win over Hearts to make sure he was fit for the weekend Scottish Cupquarter-final win over the same opponents. Celtic play Hibs at the weekend and after that it should allow Taylor to rest up before the return against Ross County on April 2nd.

Celtic already have the League Cup in the bag and are chasing down the title and the Scottish Cup. That is the reason why Taylor has been omitted from Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for this month’s European Championship qualifiers with Cyprus and Spain.

Scotland are well-covered at left-back with Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney and so it is seen as a good time to let Taylor get some much needed recovery time in. Clarke, speaking after Wednesday’s squad announcement, confirmed: “I have had a chat with Greg. It is really a Celtic issue, more than for me to comment on. He is carrying a little injury.

“He will probably benefit from a rest rather than coming away with the national team. Celtic should elaborate on that a little bit

    Rest him ffs.

We're not in any position to be playing an injured player to "keep the treble charge going".

Bernabei is good enough domestically. * it Hatate could even play there if need be. Playing injured players through the pain barrier is never a good idea, especially in this case where it isn't really necessary.

If he’s injured, don’t * play him, it’s that simple.

I’ve already witnessed us wreck Tierney by playing him through injuries. We’ve spent £3million on another left back. Let the guy sink or swim.

It's clearly not to the same extent as Tierney's, who could barely run at points.

Ange has clearly been trying to balance having a successful season with Taylor's fitness needs. When Bernabei plays we're a much less effective team.

After Hibs this Sunday then he'll get a few weeks to rest/treat whatever it is.

I'd rest him the next two games tbh and save him for the huns.

The whole ‘Bernabei can’t be trusted’ drivel is so tedious, particularly given it is mostly fuelled by Juarnovic’s horror show at Ibrox.

The only ones who’ll be impacted by Taylor being rested is the Manchester City and Real Madrid scouts travelling to watch him.

Is this the latest chapter in the Taylor hysteria?

It’s now frowned upon to not badmouth a Celtic player in Bernabei. Brilliant.
