Aye It's how I see him as well, I don't think he'll put in a performance as good as Juranovic against the huns last year, but I think he'll be a lot more consistent than Jura was.

 

Jura was outstanding in that 3-0 game but tbh i think AJ has got that sort of big game performance in him. It probably won't be as free flowing or slick going forward like Jura at his best but he'll absolutely bag someone sooner or later.

 

Just love that physicality he brings to the table.

Would still have Tony Ralston just now though. Similar players but Ralston sets up more chances.

 

I agree but Johnston was doing a lot more yesterday in getting forward, which for me is a big improvement. Looking forward to the competition once Ralston is fully fit.

 

Loved when that * grabbed Kyogo, first two over him and Haksa.

Sort of * you can rely on to have your back.

 

Think he's becoming more involved going forward the last couple of games, first 7 or 8 or 10 or whatever games he played I didn't recall him trying to put a single ball into the box, last couple of games he's started doing it. Also been making more runs forward when he tended to stay sitting a bit deeper.

You forget sometimes with new players especially defensive ones they don't always take much of a gamble incase they make a mistake until they are embedded and trusted enough in the team.

I think he's much better defensively than Ralston as well and probably even better than Juranovic, although I don't really mind him being tested yet nobody has gave him even a hint of a problem and he must have played 10 games now, he's one of those really fit and quick guys off the mark and even over long distance that nobody is ever going to outrun him and he seems really confident any time anyone does try anything he just takes it off them. Juranovic was good at that also but also seemed less switched on than Johnston who reacts quicker and doesn't take as much risk of going to far out of position.

 

Showing a lot more going forward recently. Really like him.

He was unreal today. His defending has never been in doubt but he’s contributing a bit more further up the park now. If he adds that we’ve got a seriously good full back on our hands.

The way I see him is better and upgrade on JJ

He's better defending than JJ was attacking and he's a better attacker than JJ was a defender.

 

Was absolutely brilliant, coming into his own and obviously loves getting stuck into the battles.
