It's correct to some extent that managers will never come out and say 'No one's approached me and I wouldn't leave for them anyway' as it lowers their stock. Pretend everyone's after you, raise your profile, get better offers, bigger contracts, etc. Ange isnae daft, he knows how to play the game.

Tierney used to come out with stuff about how he could see himself at Celtic for the rest of his career. Look how that panned out.

 

I think Tierney meant it though. I get the impression leaving did actually pain him a bit, whenever he's interviewed all he talks about is Celtic.

Rodgers is the classic example as to why managers shouldn't pretend they're going nowhere when they're just waiting for the right offer.

think Tierney realised with the injuries he was picking up, it can sometimes be a short career so made sure he was financially stable for life,

 

It is mental when you look at Rodgers' signings, the amount of complete and utter dross that we spent a collective fortune on. I wouldn't have trusted him with any more than the biscuit tin either.

We missed out on a power of good signings due to Lawwell’s nonsense. Fabian Schar, who will likely be in the EPL team of the season, and John McGinn are two who spring to mind immediately.
