I was told on Wednesday that Leeds had contacted us through an intermediary and that their interest was firmly rebuffed.

My best guess at Ange missing the press conference today would be him wanting the focus on the game and not on him.

 

Hopefully not the same guy who told you Cho was coming.

Ange Postecoglou is fully focused on “building something very special” at Celtic amid links to the vacant manager’s position at Leeds United.

His assistant manager John Kennedy faced the press on Friday after a week of speculation surround a potential move to the English Premier League.

The Australian is believed to be in contention for the Leeds role as they look to replace Jesse Marsch who was sacked after a poor run of results.

But Kennedy, who has now worked under four managers at Celtic Park, says Postecoglou loves his job at the Scottish champions and takes any speculation linking him to other clubs as a compliment to the job he is doing in Glasgow

When asked about the speculation Kennedy joked: “We’ve just tied him to the chair upstairs and a put couple of security on his door.”



But insisted the squad and coaching staff are all fully focused on the job at hand, starting with St Mirren in Scottish Cup duty on Saturday.

He said: “He has shown his abilities as a manager. I think, just like players here, when you do that and you have success with that you attract attention.

“That’s what’s happened but, ultimately, there’s a lot of speculation, a lot of noise but I know first hand the way he works. He’s really focused on his job here, he loves being here.

“He’s in the middle of building something very special so I think his mind is firmly focused on being at Celtic and doing the best he can here.”

 

Kennedy is just covering for Ange, he's on a flight out to Atlanta for a square go with GG.
