Heard his interview after the game, quite spoken and reserved, he's doing his talking on the pitch.

If he had pace he'd be at a top 4 EPL side IMO even at his age. Pure gravy this bhoy.

Aaron Mooy continued his impressive run of form with a goal as Celtic brushed St Johnstone aside 4-1 at McDiarmid Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Australian has forced his way into the starting reckoning for the champions and has now chipped in with four goals and an assist in his last four games.

Since his World Cup exploits during the winter break, Mooy has scored all six of his Celtic goals and two of his five assists.

When asked by the BBC after the St Johnstone victory what it is boss Ange Postecoglou asks of him, Mooy replied: "There's lots of details that go into that. Just positionally, in movements, defensively, when have the ball and when we don't.

"There are lots of things but I'm just trying to improve and get better at it. Yeah, that's it... it's simple.

It's a good team to play in, it's enjoyable. We play good football, there's lots of movement. When I have the ball there are lots of people making runs - that's what I like. I like to play the ball in behind sometimes and yeah it's an enjoyable place to play."

Mooy netted the third of Celtic's four goals with an Andy Considine own-goal opening the scoring for the league leaders before Kyogo Furuhashi added his 22nd strike of the campaign.

Drey Wright pulled one back for the Perth Saints before Mooy's goal while David Turnbull added the fourth late on.

"I sorta knew what I was going to do in my head before the ball came," Mooy said of his goal. "My first touch was good so once I took that first touch I knew I could lift it over him [Saints goalkeeper Remi Matthews].

Another great performance from him, only way I can see his form dipping is if he chosses to to avoid getting motm and being forced to do interviews every week. He clearly hates doing them

    He was outstanding again today.

I reckon Ange will be regretting not starting him at the * pit every bit as much as shifting Kyogo out wide to fit in a departing Eddy in his first game there.

Genuinely believe we’d have beaten the manks if he started, he’d have had their midfield on toast.

I don't like attention much': The Celtic player keen to stay out of limelight - but just can't
Aaron Mooy is clearly a player who does not want to be front and centre, preferring others to hog the limelight, but everyone wants a piece of Celtic’s shy Australian right now.

The 32-year-old is becoming a fans’ favourite with the Celtic right now. They have penned a song for him and it got a strong airing once again at McDiarmid Park in Celtic’s 4-1 cinch Premiership win over St Johnstone as Mooy clipped in another goal – his sixth in the past nine matches – to help his team maintain their nine-point lead at the top of the league.

Mooy was on media duties in the wake of this victory and he made it clear that he isn’t one for the adulation, even if it makes his smile. “Yeah, I don't like attention much,” the former Huddersfield and Brighton midfielder said when asked about the chants from the stands. “It [hearing the song] is a great feeling. I try and hold back my smile but I can't when they sing it. I'm enjoying it and the fans enjoy singing it.”

Mooy’s Celtic career took a while to ignite as he got to grips with how Celtic play and restored himself to full fitness but ever since the World Cup, when he was impressive for Australia, he has been one of the club’s most impressive performers. Asked to play a more advanced role by manager Ange Postecoglou, he is finding the net regularly and assisting others.

"It is just clicking together, maybe because of the role I am playing and understanding it better and better and linking up and playing with team-mates,” explained Mooy. “When you get that first goal it is like a monkey off your back and that is very pleasing. When you get chances in this team than you have to take them as there are so many good players and I am happy to get another goal."

Apart from making the loanees permanent. This was the signing I was most excited about, took a wee while to break into team but was always going too. Such a classy player who you know isn’t going to make a mistake and chip in with plenty of forward passes, assists and recently goals. Also good to have a pen taker as JJ was the only one I felt confident about before stepping up.
