IMO, Almasi is good enough. I just don't know if Ange will give a second choice striker as much game time as he would have given the first choice option (Jo). Abildgaard was brought in instead of Souza, yet barely featured. I do want us to act with clarity and determination. If Jo is our first choice, then promise him what he wants, and pay what Jeonbuk really want for him. If we think he doesn't want to come, or we've found a better option, move on.

To be fair to him, he's a wee troll * and I put him on ignore weeks ago, the board is a much nicer place for it.

If the negotiations with the club/player fail, I don't know why, neither do you, and neither does he. We might not meet their valuation, or he might just decide Germany is a better league so Mainz is more attractive for his career as a player. It's * if we miss out he looks a good player, but lawwell isn't in charge of our transfer business as plenty of people have already said, so trying to bring him into the conversation is pointless.

 

He's quoted saying there in negotiations with us. Until its confirmed he's not coming there is hope.

We've missed out on a lot of good players while Lawwell was CEO. I know he's not the CEO now, but I've had enough trauma and frustrations to get flashbacks every time we have a transfer draw out. When McGree snubbed us, we swiftly targeted and acquired O'Riley. Here, we're stuck for ages, after a reportedly unsatisfactory bid was submitted to Jo's club.

Did Oh's club no confirm we stuck in a bid of 2 mill or so, with the player desperate to come? Yet Cho is seemingly our main forward target, South Korea's number 9....and yet we won't meet this 2.2 mill figure?

Sounds about right........

 

That would've happened no matter who was in charge. We missed out on great players before Lawwell arrived too.

 

Except the figure Jeonbuk were hoping for is 4 million, maybe 5. We should be able to up our bid in any case. Or pull out. It's the waiting on the outcome that's bad. If we're unable or unwilling to go all in for Jo (assuming Ange strongly prefers Furuhashi and wants to give him most of the playing time), then we should move on.

 

Oh we made plenty of mistakes when he was in charge, I don't think you'll get anyone on here saying he has a faultless record, but Lawwell has also been on the board the entire time Ange has been here, he hasn't stopped us doing business smoothly up til now and there's no reason he should going forward. Again, if we put in a bid that doesn't meet their valuation and we have to go back to the table with an improved offer, that's nothing to do with lawwell, he's not in charge of our transfer business.

People just saw his name in the headlines last month about him 'returning' and start building narratives in their head, like he's some mad cartoon villain out to destroy us for no reason.

And we’ve cracked the Mystery of why we didn’t get Cho

 

As someone else said, whenever fans really want a player, we never seem to get them. Cho would be perfect, so obviously that means he isn't coming. Same with Souza, Laïdouni, etc.

Those who claim to be "ITK" don't know a single thing either.

 

We've clearly been trying to get Cho....even before the world cup. He's even spoken positively about it. It'll soon unfold..

Laidouni is another who's probably wanted by a host of top league sides due to bursting on the world cup scene..

By all accounts we did everything we could to get Souza in, where we thought it was done. Then almost last minute he * us and went to la liga..

 

Dembele is probably one of the few exceptions, but even then I think a lot just viewed him as a Fulham striker who may or may not make the step up.

 

When a player is unsure of coming here, it's easier to just move on. But if Jo views us positively, why are we stuck waiting? After that comment, and the Instagram post of our No. 2. Korean target which Jo shared, I was very positive about our chances to land both. Why aren't we splashing the cash? K-League isn't an overhyped England. We're getting good value for money.

 

For a start we've bid quite high for the boy Oh. The fee wasn't the problem for them either..
