Exactly. He's the only player of the current crop who my da and everyone from his generation agree is the best. Just pure joy. I feel privileged to have grown up watching all his games and I'll tell my boys and grandkids about it at every opportunity.

If you think it’s ludicrous to suggest that, for large parts of their careers, Messi and Ronaldo were neck and neck, say why - plenty of other users have been happy to.

 

Ronaldo has been an incredible player, there can be no denying that. For me personally though, he isn’t close to Messi in terms of ability. It’s no surprise to see how both their careers are ending either.

Ronaldo was always going to drop off massively as he was all about pace and power, of which he had in abundance in his prime. They strengths naturally get worse with age however. Messi has never really relied on blistering pace. He has a great burst over a few yards, but he has still got that, and his body movement can buy him a yard. Both have been great goalscorers, but Messi has much more to his game than scoring goals.

One is ending their career doing interviews with Piers Morgan to get him out of a pish poor Man Utd team that he can’t get a game for. The other is lifting the greatest prize in International football whilst playing the starring role, and is playing regularly for one of the best teams in Europe domestically.

 

Zidane is up there for me.

Told you before mate, 99% of the forum isn't bored of it, 99% of the forum has a right good giggle at you getting pounded constantly.

You see, people who sit and post things on the internet trying to come across as so much more intelligent than everyone else, as if they are some sort of 'chosen one', well my friend, they people are absolute cannon fodder for us normal *.
