Maybe the goal will give him that bit of confidence he is looking for to push on and get further goals

He's had a hard time of it recently but it's only fair we give him credit today. Stepped up big time with that goal.

Did well might have had another goal as well, I mind at one point someone took the ball and shot but if they dummiedit he was in behind them.

Played very well second half. Glad to see him get his goal and hoping he can push on. He needs to work on his technical ability and composure. I'm hoping to see him kick on now.

Thought he was very dangerous for a 15-20 minute period 2nd half.

Me too, he was on fire when hooked.
Anyone noticed what was on that black banner the boy in the crowd had when Maeda went to celebrate with fans. It was * The M........?

Took his goal well and was unlucky not to get an assist for that lovely little near post flick which teed up Mooy perfectly to put it past the post or he would have had an assist too.

The one thing that annoyed me yesterday was what I mentioned before, he had the ball clearly in front of him and only Michael Smith who is slow to run and he stalled and stalled looking for a pass just get the ball out your feet and go with the pace he has he would have left him trailing.

He has not been near the standards he set himself last season but that goal will do him good and was nice to see a bit of emotion from him in the celebration. He is normally very composed and reserved. Clearly meant a lot to him.

A thing that was frustrating me yesterday (first half it happened quite a few time's) was when the ball went out wide to him....he played it first time and blind and lost it a number of time's..

Needs to take a bit more care and be a bit braver with it 100%..

Definitely getting better, slowly but surely overall though..

Frustrates the life out of you at times but he's got goals in him, as he has shown at times. Hopefully his confidence is high now and starts getting in about them more.

Yeah definitely and being honest if he gets back to tucking away chances regularly like the past two league games whilst being alert and making intelligent runs, along with his work rate of the ball then I would be more than happy to have him as an option.

I have to admit I don’t like two of our wingers being Abada, Forrest and/or Maeda in a game.
I prefer to have one of the above with Jota or Halsabanovic. It will be interesting when Jota is back in what happens does Halksabanovic move inside until McGregor is back?

I do feel a bit for Maeda, as he clearly prefers coming in from the left but both Jota and Haksabanovic play there so Forrest and Abada have an advantage that they prefer playing on the right to Maeda.
