    The champions league is a far different game than it was when we were getting results against teams like this. The gap is just so much bigger now. I don't think we could've done much better

    Thought we played amazingly well in the first half.

    We needed to take one of those chances though. It's a cliche but at this level you simply HAVE to. The Maeda one in particular you just don't get those chances against Real Madrid 6 yards out.

    If we take that or one of the others goes in then we get something from that game genuinely.

    A lot of positives to take but 2nd half we tired and they smelt blood. Having a lead to hold onto would gave given us that extra edge and will to keep on going at a decent pace.

    Very encouraging but still some of the same issues creeping in (2 goal collapse in 3.5mins my biggest gripe). The thing is all Their goals we didn't really hand them to them and they had moments of quality that only could come from a team at their level. The first one involves the play out from the back, the second has modric genius all over it and the third only Kroos can play that pass to perfection and Hazard with the movement. It's just top level stuff.

    But yeah. I didn't expect anything and for a good 50 mins they did us insanely proud.

    How do we know if he wasn't given a chance? But the main point of my post is that although we got beat 3-0. I am in no way disapointed in our team or manager, so I looked elsewhere for my disapointment

    Should have been in front after 60mins. Played our own game and it was more than a match for Madrid in that period. Their first goal is absolute class and that was the difference tonight. They were clinical, we weren’t. We probably ran out of steam in the end as well, but had we got the first goal, that would have given us a second wind, and I think we would have got something out the game. On to next week, where we have to get something. If we play like we did tonight in the remaining 5 games, there is no reason we can’t get out of this group.

    One year ago we couldn’t have imagined a night like tonight.

    A very steep learning curve and proof that you need to take your chances against the elite.

    This really is just the beginning. I’ve not worn clothes for a whole month and I gave my belt sander to a Sevconian.

    We are wonderful to watch just now. Let’s just enjoy.

    (what about Modric though? Simply sublime)

    Proud of the lads tonight, played well against a good Madrid side. Ange will be telling them that that's the level of fitness above where they are at. It's up to them to think if they want to raise to ECL levels of fitness or content to be fit enough for a SPFL season. That's not a criticism that's a reality, technically we were superb and more than capable of beating teams.

    Modric is not human lol phenomenal talent could watch him for the full game… I do actually tend to follow him even off the ball when he’s miles away from the action. Intelligent football player

    Oil/oligarch money is killing the game for teams like Celtic to do over the giants and the gulf in class gets bigger and bigger each year.

    Happy enough to just take the money in a competition that we'll never compete in whilst in the Scottish League.

    Proud of the Bhoys tonight but ultimately it's a shame we can't attract better players to compete with the giants given our stadium and fanbase it, deserves it.

    Better team first half, outclassed second. Think 3-0 was a bit harsh. Don’t think you’ll get a better atmosphere in Europe this season, but still we got nothing. Not sure how I feel
