Did Daizen Maeda have a knock?

He got a bit of a knock, but he’s ok, it’s nothing serious. He’ll be fine. I just felt that second half I knew we’d get a lot of the ball, we had the wind behind us, and Liel in those situations he gets on the end of things and can beat his men. I thought he could make an impact and he did.

It’ll be horses for courses with all the wing options as Ange has alluded to.

He will still be a huge player for us this season. Setting the tempo from the front for starters.

    That’s quite harsh tbh mate.

guy has talent, some good finishes and cracking assists.

he will be better suited to Europe and home games imo

I tend to agree, games in Europe where we are doing the chasing he will be an asset. Games on small tight pitches, especially when teams sit back, tend to negate much of his usefullness. The trickery and creativity of Jota and Abada are much more suited to those kinds of situations.

He's a weird one in terms of technical ability. One minute he can completely scuff a simple ball then the next minute he can get a very difficult shot off.

His movement is top notch though and he's always going find himself on the end of chances.

Yeah he was good. His work ethic, and the speed at what he covers the pitch is phenomenal. Such an asset. Maybe not as direct as Jota or Abada, but offers more defensively.

Touch was decent today considering the sticky * pitch.

Flies under the radar somewhat as h you say he assisted twice but I didn't even have him in my top 5 in the POTY thread.

    A great signing for ~£1m :57:

Seems to love these astroturf pitches haha

He's also got the pace to take people on. Reckon he could win so many fouls in dangerous areas just from doing it more often.

Good control before the Jota goal, controlled with the thigh, chest and then rolled into his path while under pressure.

Should have had a goal as well if Jota squared it to him after that Kyogo through ball, he got miles into space but Jota took an extra touch and had a shot when if he rolled it across Maeda would have had to make a * of it not to score.

I like the fact he’s not as friendly as Kyogo and Reo to the opposition as well, no afraid to leave one on somebody.

Will get off the mark in one of the next 3 games I’m sure, maybe saving it for the Huns :fear:
