I see people comparing Rogic and Matt.

for me you have to look at it this way, at 21 years old for me, Matt is light years ahead of what Rogic was at that age.

Just think of the potential Matt has coming into the next 9/10 years.

Matt has a better engine and the impact he has had since joining is brilliant.

He is another that will go for big money when he leaves the club.

Absolute steal for 1.5 million and looking forward to the season ahead.

He's definitely the one to watch.

He's forward play with Hatate I thought was great to watch and thought they linked up well.

But with his work ethic and attitude and his dream of trying to make Danish international squad...he could be someone who we don't get to enjoy for long and fair * to him, the way he's going he seems destined for big things.

I've often been critical of our scouts, but whoever sniffed him out deserves a wage rise.

What does that tell us though? People develop at different rates. How many players have we seen show bags of potential early on in their career only to crash and burn when they reach their mid 20s?

It's also unfair to Tom who had a terrible time with injuries at a young age. At 21 he missed out on world cup selection because of a bad groin injury after playing through the pain for months.

Matt is an exciting talent but seems like some are so set on convincing themselves that we won't miss Tom they are getting ahead of themselves before he has actually come up with the goods.

Rogic had major injuries when he was younger.

Tbh your talking about engines, I think that's one thing that is near comparable, oriley for me runs out of juice and for definite is slower than Rogic, him and Turnbull are poor pace wise and for me Rogic who wasn't the quickest is defo faster and a whole lot stronger on the ball.

Oriley looks fab though, improves his fitness and the more he develops his pace, strength and intricate passing it can only be good for us.

Pretty sure O'Riley has asthma (he was using an reliever inhaler during the Ibrox match and often sounds a bit wheezy in post match interviews) so that might explain why he runs out of juice. But I agree very exciting player who (like Tom) has an excellent football brain. The passes he picks out are *chefs kiss*

like I said at the same age Matt is much better engine aside, Rogic needed loads of time to adapt and get into the side and develop into the player he finally was.

Matt could do it much quicker and a shorter time, his potential for me is much bigger.

You think Matt has legs? Because to me he was slower and behind Tom on pace last season and he is 21, Tom 29 (plus pace and speed not exactly things Tom is famous for)

As I said he has strengths that are favourable to Tom and weakness that are less favourable. Players aren't clones, they come with their own tool kit. Right now all we have with Matt is potential. When that potential starts turning into results then we will know for sure how good of a replacement he is for Tom.

You can downplay the importance of a player we would not have won last season without to convince yourself we will be fine without him if you want. I would rather be realistic and keep a level head. We have a full season to play, players with lots of potential but anything can happen.

That's because the manager was a banger and never came him a chance, if its wasn't for the likes of Deila and Rodgers there'd be no rogic, forrest or mcgregor giving us great times.

Yeah Lennon was possibly the worst manager to develop a young talent like Tam. Matt had a simmilar situation at Fulham but lucky to have Russell Martin at MKD and then Ange.

Weird that NL was the one to sign him.

I'm slightly biased as he's one of my fav ever Celts, the guy was just majestic on the park and had magical feet, we've 100% lost him at still an amazing level that he can produce but he's not at Celtic and now all I want is the likes of Reo and Matt to be better and that's who I'm supporting, Tam is now yesterdays news, but like Sammy I'll always hold huge regard for the guy.
