Would be a quality move for him..

Going away under a manager who probably will give him a fair bit of game time and a bit less pressure on him. His injuries have taken a toll and clearly done a number on his confidence..

This is his real big make or break..

Confident we'll get another winger in now as well..

This would make a lot of sense, fingers crossed it's true. Would mean we'll definitely bring another winger in too.

You can tell he plays with the weight of the world on his shoulders these days. This loan would suit him I reckon if true.

I love how all our fringe players get swallowed up by the Belgian league Lol. I do have a soft spot for Standard and Deila so this would give me more incentive to watch them this year.

Had so much promise when he burst into the scene.

I think when Rodgers played him up top against them knocked his confidence massively as he took loads of stick for his contribution that game.

Injuries have also played a massive part in his development.

things I think that Ange and co are considering with him:

They see his talent on the training ground.

Homegrown and trained at the club.

Still has it in his locker to make it here.

    Other factors:

Jota, same age and His is light years ahead of MJ in every single department.

    His injury record.

Playing well in training and can’t transfer that into playing well on match days.

I don’t see him getting a lot of game time this year and will be a bit part player so if there is any truth in this loan then he needs to go out there and get a full season under his belt and prove he can last a whole season.

I honestly think this is his last chance at the club.

Agree with all of this. The injuries have done him but if he could stay injury free (a big but) and get a run in a team he definitely has a lot of natural ability and could still make it.

he looked under pressure against legia, he looked very rusty

think a lot of these kids think they are the finished article when actually they have everything to prove

    spoilt maybe ?

whatever he should jump at the chance of a fresh start, he must know in his head its nigh on impossible for him to get regular games at celtic and thats really what he needs and he needs to toughen up

Lad needs to stop reading social media comments and just focus on the fitba.

Hopefully some truth in this move as it sounds ideal him working under Ronny.

Would be happy to see him away tbh, just doesn't seem like he's ever going to come good.

MIKEY JOHNSTON is set to leave Celtic on loan.

SunSport understands Standard Liege are one of several European clubs keen on the Hoops winger.

But Johnston also has options across Britain and manager Ange Postecoglouis expected to sanction his exit.

The 23-year-old remains highly rated at Parkhead but faces fierce competition for a start, with the likes of Jota, Daizen Maeda, Liel Abada and James Forrest ahead of him in the pecking order.

He is now likely to head out on loan in a bid to get a run of regular games.

Belgian side Liege, bossed by ex-Celtic gaffer Ronny Deila, are keen.

But there is also English interest in him, with Championship and League One clubs in contention.

Should Johnston prefer to stay in Scotland, several Premiership sides would be keen.

He’s had a tough time with injuries in recent years and is desperate to kick-start his career.

A loan move could suit both parties, with Johnston prepared to move abroad if it’s the right opportunity.

Liege would be a great move but for getting a look at him weekly....I would like to see him go somewhere in our league..

The sheep would've been a good move but they've got Scales and Hibs seem to have loads of option's....so his option's for a good club are limited in the top flight..

Dundee United possibly would be a good fit..
