There would be a ridiculous amount of pressure on him if he moved here.

As much as the romantic notion of a Larsson signing might be, the reality is that a move here to Celtic would probably be something that even his old man would advise against. And not because in his own right he might be good enough, and certainly nothing against Celtic as a football club or even Scotland as a country.

But if he were to sign for Celtic, could you even begin to imagine the pressure that he would be up against?

And not for any thing that he might do but the constant comparisons with his dad etc. And even if he scored a goal every second game on average (which is pretty good going for any striker), it stlll wouldn't come close to his dad. He wouldn't be going to compete against opposition defenders, but against the spectre of a legend. How can anyone realistically be expected to live up to that? But it would be inevitible.

And if he were to fall even a little bit short he would still never hear the end of it. Likewise, even if he did come and was pure silk and was scoring for fun, it would still only barely be considered as meeting expectations - let alone going beyond them - that he would be placed under, and would still never hear the end of it.

At least, at virtually any other club, while he might get the occasional comparison to Henrik or question asked etc, it would be nowhere near the same level of pressure and scrutiny that would be inevitibly waiting for him if he were to come to Celtic. There is enough pressure on footballers - and especially strikers as it is - without needlessly taking on a whole other level of unrealistic expectations that anyone would be hard pressed to be able to compete and be compared with.

He’s Jordan LARSSON - he’s been playing fitba since he started professionally under the shadow of his dad.
Obviously moving to Celtic would be a magnified version of this, but i’m sure he’s man enough to take that burden on his shoulders and forge his own legacy.

We don't really need him but i'd take him. Jota, Abada, Maeda, Larsson and Forrest for the wide positions and Kyogo, Giakoumakis, Maeda and Larsson for the striker.

It's probably one too many players but you never know about injuries. Could end up needing him.

I think people are completely overestimating the pressure he would be under.

No one is expecting him to be as good as Henrik Larsson.

Son’s of legends fail because they aren’t good enough, not because their dad was a great player.

Same, there wouldn't really be expectation not as if we're buying him for £10million. If he turned out in the company of Roberts/Commons/Stokes/McDonald for a few seasons as a first choice/back-up he'd be fine.

Other than the dimwitted journos in the SMSM who ask daft questions every week, why would anyone else expect him to be the same level as his dad? Did everyone expect Timo Weah to be as good as his dad? Or does Kasper Schmeichal constantly get compared to his dad?

It's not like they're the first father and son to play football, and while it might be natural to compare their play styles, to expect the exact same level of performance would be naïve at best.

Anyone demanding Henrik numbers from Jordan wouldn't be worth listening to anyway, and I'm sure Jordan has heard it all before when he was playing in and for Sweden.

    We absolutely need another attacker.

Can’t rely on Forrest to stay fit. Abada will go through spells of poor form. All the wingers will.

He has also already been managed and played with his dad in his home nation.

He knows what that pressure feels like.

And honestly I do genuinely believe that in this day and age the majority of Celtic fans would never expect him to be anywhere near his Dad.

Nor would we be as vicious towards him as to what he and Henrik experienced in their home nation.

I think he could handle playing here definitely.

If he can play anywhere across the front 3 I think that's exactly what we need really. 2 main strikers with larsson, maeda to an extent, kenny, to fill in

Tend to agree, Daniel maldini is probably not gonna reach the heights of his dad or even his grandad, doesn't mean he's not a great player. It's not like he got a token place in the academy he's already done it on his own

Bang right on. I'm sure Jordan will handle the pressure just fine like he done in Sweden and Russia.

For me if we signed him there wouldn't be a so called back, the competition across the front three would be fierce. Different players who can cover numerous positions all competing for a place. Larsson's best shot would prob be rw in front three of Jota kyogo Larsson. With maeda GG abada well able to compete for their spots

Just the worry that they're all "too good" though, to have 7 guys for 3 positions that could all be first choice seems a wee bit too much. Usually out of your 7 guys 2 or 3 might be like Ajeti, Hayes and Johnston who would be back-up only.

Sentiment aside, he is a terrific player in his own right. He will be a great signing if it happens so for me I hope we get it done.

    Bring him home...:ynwacelti
