Any uncontrolled twitching from my boaby has definitely disappeared over the last few days. I will only be convinced that he has signed when for us when I see him with the Celtic top on holding a Celtic scarf above his head

Won’t believe it until he’s spotted coming out of either Crocatiles or the clinic in Black st.

    :fear:

A Celtic source has told Football Insider that Jota has also agreed terms with the club and will put pen to paper on a multi-year contract.

The attacker, who was on loan from Benfica last term, will convert his move to a permanent deal in a deal worth £6.5million.

Jota’s capabilities are well known to the Parkhead faithful after his hugely impressive loan campaign in 2021-22.

Operating as a wide forward, the Portugese scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists from 40 matches for Celtic.

Think it’s been fairly obvious to most that he’s signing for weeks now.

Think we’d have went for the lad Twine as an alternative at £4m or so if this wasn’t happening.

Surely to keep the corporation tax down you would announce it for this tax year then no ?

Yeah you would think so. But could be to do with dividends or a board decision * only knows.

That’s what I thought too but if we assume they’re gaming the tax date there could be all sorts of reasons for doing it on either side I suppose.

For one, they might want to announce a profit for bonuses or something like that.

Bonuses and/or shareholder divdends were my initial thought on the most likely reasons for delaying it.

Couple folk claiming Jota deal is off last 20 mins due to his agent wanting a release clause of £8m in his contract.

I’d be surprised at that. I don’t think Benfica would sell at £6.5m with a sell on if that sell on couldn’t exceed a percent of max £8m.

There’s probably a stipulation on the deal that Celtic can’t have a release clause, at least not that low.

If I had to guess I would say this is made up *.
