Wouldnt pay over the odds but he's far better than Welsh, and very versatile. Would be happy for a season long loan with maybe an option to buy if we could get him for about £4 mill.

I would take him as a defensive midfielder but not entirely sure about him at centre back. I don't think we are in drastic need of a physically demanding centre back now we have CCV in the team and he can fight with the strongest of them. Even starfelt is an upgrade on Ajer/Julien physically.

On the flip side to that, I want Souza as a defensive midfielder and that means we wouldn't get him. I think Itakura would be a good option to have in terms of his versatility but I think he would struggle up against the likes of Morelos.

I feel like the general style of play would be vastly improved if we could get Itakura and Souza into the 11 as Itakura would be given some level of protection and then probably the time on the ball to be our ball playing CB, Whilst the likes of CCV and Souza act as the muscle around the defence.

Just having Itakura alone would probably leave him exposed physically and like you say...it is probably best to continue with the partnership CCV and Starfelt have.

It's pretty funny how the overall opinion on him has changed over the last page, before that everyone was desperate to get him.

I'd definitely take him if available, having CCV, Starfelt and Itakura as our CB'S would be perfect.

I think by the looks of things, people were a little put off by the performance against Tunisia where he didn't seem to do well against a fairly physically aggressive striker.

With that, I don't think it's too much of a jump to think he could then struggle at times, dealing with the hammer throwers in Scottish leagues. Which I think is fair to an extent.

Bottom line is if Ange thinks he can do the business then so do I.

I think he looks class. Opinion hasn't changed.

Seems to stem from him having one dodgy game against a physical opponent.

By all accounts he's had 3 very good seasons in decent European leagues.

You know what us Celtic fans are like.. One week someone’s a world beater the next he needs dropped :fear:

This guy on loan with option would be the ideal 3rd option and challenger to Starfelt for me.

Would also save some cash to spend it elsewhere *cough* Big Vini Souza *cough*.

Would 100% take him with a loan to buy option.

Need him in, or someone similar. Proven European player with good numbers. Japanese so would hopefully fit in well. Part of the City group. Sounds like a no brainer - especially when you think that if CCV or Starfelt get injured we're more than likely gonna see Welsh in there :/

Get him in and ship Julien oot.

The only worry I'd have is when international games for Japan we'd lose a few players

Japan play their games at the same time as Australia and I don't remember that being a big problem with Rogic, apart from that one game v the huns.

I agree with that but you're talking 3 maybe 4 key players leaving at one time it could be problematic

Is it that big a deal if they miss the new years eve game once every 4 years? And if there's 4 of them away, does that no mean we'd have grounds to get the game postponed anyway?
