Who are the best club side of all time?

BBC sport are currently running a poll on who are the best club side of all time. The Lisbon Lions are mentioned so it would be nice if we could up our votes to highlight the historic achievements of our team .

I mean, if there is a vote and the lions are involved, I'm voting for them.

Aye, Pep’s Barca for me when Xavi and Iniesta were at their absolute peaks. Messi was just the icing on the cake of that side. Never seen football played as well as they did since and probably won’t again.

 

It's really difficult to judge teams from different eras, the game has changed so much.

I still believe that what the Lisbon Lions did is the greatest achievement, because the team featured players born locally, most of whom came through the youth set-up. I will accept that other teams were better.

3 teams come to mind for me as being in the conversation, the Ajax team of the early 70s, the AC Milan team of the late 80s and early 90s, and the Barca team under Pep.

 

I'm 30 next month so in my lifetime its easily the Barcelona side that won the 2011 champions league.

The lions have the best ever achievement, that'll never be matched.

 

The lions are, to this date, the only team in the history of the game to do a real quadruple in 1967. We also won the Glasgow cup meaning we won every single tournament we entered that year and actually did a quintiple. Gets my vote!

 

Will always vote for The Lisbon Lions because of what they achieved. The true Quadruple has yet to be equalled. And of course no other Scottish team has their name engraved on the big trophy

But in my lifetime and from a personal point of view - that peak Barca side under Pep, and to a degree the Spanish national team around that time were unreal.

 

As above barca with messi, xavi and iniesta was just perfect football, they won 6 trophies in one season.

 

They beat Man United also, who are a club I detest. So kudos...

 

The Lions were the biggest achievement in football - the whole squad being homegrown born within miles of each other. That'll never happen again.

But if we're talking style and quality, Pep's Barca are unrivalled, in my lifetime at least. Watching them felt like watching a new sport.

 

As pretty much everyone else has said, the achievement of The Lions is unrivalled.

However, that Barcelona team made me watch them every single week. They were that good. When my wee man is a little bit older, I’ll tell him about the teams I’ve seen. The Seville team and the Invincibles but I’ll also tell him about that Barca team. It was like I actually started supporting them because they were that good.

 

The lions are the best, * Pep's Barca and the rest, the lions didn't spend hundreds of millions.

 

Voted Lions obv, but aye that Barca side was the greatest ever assembled IMO.

 

Yeh, voted for the Lions earlier however, as I said on the Zombie thread, the huns will be raging that they're not on this this poll and will be issuing an staunch angry statement shortly

 

I'd have to agree with that, heart say lions but in reality it's that Barca team

Picked the Lisbon Lions but agree with everybody else, that Barcelona team were on another level.
