Closer to home, though technically in Europe in both senses, are tonight's opponents. Their supporters know first-hand what scum the hun can be.

I think the City fans will be more than happy to join in with, "If you hate Glasgow R*ng*rs, clap your hands". Also, sectarianism in Manchester is virtually unknown, so some might join in with "Athenry" too.

I hope I'm not being too optimistic, but tonight's the opportunity for both sets of fans to pronounce themselves the civilised representatives of their proud cities.

No matter what the outcome, Congratulations to FBK Kaunas for stepping on something rotten!

    Time to start drinking now!

I do hope you are right although I am aware of a 100 or so group who are far more likely to sing 'Rule Britannia' tonight as they have bonded with their Rangers friends.

At the end of the day, the perception (unfortunately) around City is that Celtic and United have a bond, which makes a lot of City fans bond with Rangers.

Obviously, I am not one of these deluded souls! :)

    Probably Kaunas :56:

So many tales to tell of our travels, Barcelona sticks out tho. The city is just full of lovely honest people that love their town, their football and where they come from, Catalonia.

St Pauli... the bhoys are * mad supporters and love the whole rebel thing... think that why they relate to us so easily.

Barca / Ac / Benfica ... we have good relations with these clubs but i think Porto is about the only team in Europe (would exclude the huns here but thanks to last nite... :56:) that wouldn't have a particulally good relationship with us... for obvious reasons... oh, and the feelings mutual!!

It;s going back a few years. But I think we got on really well with the Borussia Dortmund fans when we played them in the UEFA Cup in the mid 90's.

Totally agree. I said it last year as well, all this 'roll out the welcome mat' * is nauseating.

I'd rather beat them than befriend them.
