The bit quoted, the most concerning bit for me is it sounds like laying the groundwork for not much spending in the summer…

He previously claimed the Huns were still the same club as well.

The Da’s will absolutely lap this liquidation patter up but and forget about everything else.

Can't believe the stick he gets by some Celtic supporters. Go look at the trophy hall for the last 20 years. That for me is enough not to slate this man. Yes everything isn't perfect, far from it but I have had some amazing life memories during the last 20 years supporting us and if Dermot can do the same for the next 20, I'll die a happy man.

Running at a profit and hovering up trophies isn't enough apparently

His reaction to losing a semi to the huns saw us win a quadruple treble and his reaction to last year has led us to where we are now

Yes no question about it I was desperate for him. My point is there was no plan B.

The succes we have had since 2000 has been mental and I assume I need to be a "DA" to remember the shitiest of times as a Celtic supporter, we were seriously guff before this period and only won 3 trophies in a decade, since his involvement we have won , on average 18 per decade

Agreed The 90's were a tough watch. Personally I think he (DD) comes across as honest and straight forward. There have have mistakes during his stewardship, but we have consistently won during the period. hopefully ANGE, can get us into Europe on a regular basis and have some good runs to the latter stages of the European competitions.

Delighted that he has as stated that Rangers WERE Liquidated.

The success is amazing to be fair.
    2000 to 09: 6 leagues, 4 Scottish cups, 4 league cups- 14/30
    2010 to 2019: 8 leagues, 5 cups, 5 league cups. 18/30
    2020 onwards: 1 league, 1 Cup, 1 league Cup. 3/6

When you consider that they had cheated to win 6 leagues and however many cups they won from 2000 to 2012 I think it actually shows how great we have done.

All that really tells us us we've been much better run than the Huns under him, two of the worst run clubs in the history of football

That shouldn't put him above being slated

We are better run than them but that doesn’t mean we are well run.

It’s the ‘reacting’ part that * me off about him to be fair, do the best for Celtic regardless of what they do.

I think the reacting is more to do with who he employs, Lawwell and the board have done a decent job but they are not forward thinkers or brought about any radical change even when we were promised a revamp last year we reverted back to type and employed a manager to run the football operations.

While Ange is doing an amazing job and long may it continue my worry is when he leaves, Were basically relying on finding another Ange.

Reacting is natural though, everybody will react to circumstances at times. Whether on the field during a game or off the field, circumstances can change from what you expect and you need to react. If you never reacted you'd be accused of being too single minded and unable to adapt

The thing is we aren't winning those trophies and at the end of the day I'd rather have a league Cup than a European qf. They aren't mutually exclusive but I'd really say only last season was outright embarrassing. Other years it was should have done better. Even this season we beat Betis, Ferancvaros and AZ. 19/20 beat we beat Lazio twice and Rennes, the season before that got through a group with the Austrian and Norwegian champs plus Leipzig.
Yes we could do better in Europe and hopefully in the future we do. However when Lennon was getting us into European group stages and even CL knockouts we were strangely limited domestically and not winning as many cups as we should have

No at times it’s been too obsessive over some things. Like the wage bill for instance they spend 4.5 million on a gk and hart was on the table they didn’t take hart option at time because they thought wages would be higher than the Greek they would rather * 5 million on a player acquisition rather than pay a player 1.5 million over a season

As a business there is no doubt that the club is very well run. We are constantly seeing profits and have only been spending money we can and have (unlike Sevco). However it goes wrong when these “businessmen” take a big role in footballing decision for the club. Obviously they should definitely have a say in staff appointments but if it was down to just Lawwell and Dermot then I think Ange’s appointment was a fluke. We really need a better structure in place with Sporting directors and technical directors to bridge the gap between the football and business side. Some DD signings like Robbie Keane has worked but others like James McCarthy has not. Really prefer to see the manager making the signings rather than these businessmen

Some of the praise for the board in here

Brendan Rodgers got * all support for maximum success and left as a result. Watch them do the same to Ange after he does the same and tell me what you think of them then.

Also does anyone remember Bernard Higgins? Aren't they also inflating season ticket prices during a cost of living crisis? They don't give a * about us and I'm not sure they even give a * about Celtic
